The essence of these traditions is that they were designed for home, d.i.y. so can adapt well to restrictions.
Lots of stories, games, tunes, songs recipes, articles, folklore-good for confinement reading and eating.
Also very helpful for those grieving for a lost one

for musicians= you could be a polka band player and have all the tunes you need right here you will be ready in 15 minutes.

I should be careful with these customs
While they were to celebrate the lives of the dead, they were taken seriously an still need to be respected - especially by outsiders
Take the piss and you might be planning for your own !!

Not sure how your idea of a 'perfect Irish wake' relates with the reality of funerals as they exist in present day Ireland.

Many people who lost loved ones in recent weeks are heartbroken because they can't have 'proper' funerals under current restrictions and social distancing.
