Subject: RE: 2020 Obit: Chris Ridley From: Waddon Pete Date: 10 May 20 - 06:36 AM I was surprised to see that Chris hadn't been mentioned before now. With his wife Janet, he was involved with the Bodmin Folk Club since its inception and was still actively playing until quite recently in the duo, "Warm Gold" with his wife. I have added Chris to the "In Memoriam" thread and would like to express my condolences to all those who know and love him. |
Subject: RE: 2020 Obit: Chris Ridley From: The Sandman Date: 08 May 20 - 10:35 AM If i remember correctly, Chris was involved in publicising cornish folk clubs by newsletter and by local radio, he was very hard working in promoting folk song and dance , and he is going to be a huge loss to the folk scene in the south west |

Subject: Chris Ridley RIP From: GUEST,Sean O'Shea Date: 08 May 20 - 03:41 AM A real giant has passed from the folk community in Cornwall and I'm surprised that it's not been marked in this setting. Chris, for six and more decades, has been a dancer, singer, writer, reviewer, commentator, organiser, historian and facilitator.A man with great authority and knowledge. It promotes a great sense of loss that he's no longer at the helm of so much. STANDING OVATION,CHRIS. |
