Just "the devil?" Some cultures, such as American Indians, traditionally have tricksters and witches. The devil is a later addition from xtian colonizers.

Not folk ... however, a dry witty collection by Ambrose Bierce "The Devil's Dictionary" collected 1880's to 1906.

Take a look at the Book of Job in the Bible. The first and second chapters and the last one, are a Hebrew folktale that is munch older and much more interesting than the rest of the book. It's colorful and quite humorous. In the Hebrew Scriptures, Satan is a clever trickster with a sense of humor, not at all like the evil, horrible personage portrayed by Dante in the Divine Comedy. Take the time to read those three chapters. They're fun.

For tales from Scottish traveller tradition, there's Duncan Williamson's "Jack and the Devil's Purse: Scottish Traveller Tales" (Birlinn, 2011)
