Yes it was. Here is a link to the Pulitzer Award-winning stories by David Barstow, Susanne Craig and Russ Buettner of The New York Times. Mary Trump contributed tax documents to help them write these stories.

Once she'd participated in these, and when the whole thing with children taken from the families at the border began, she decided it was time to speak out.

Mary Trump is scheduled to be on the Rachel Maddow show tomorrow (Thursday, July 16).

From what M. Trump says, the father, Fred Trump, sr, was a real piece of work. So far I haven't heard any discussion of *his* father; DJT's grandfather emigrated from Germany. The story goes that he immigrated to America to avoid military duty in Germany and that later he petitioned the German government to allow him to return but was denied.

There was an interview including with her life-long friend who was acting as a spoke-person. And a lawyer also gave an assessment that Simon & Schuster were not part of the original gagging order so would not be bound by it. AND alluded to Mary's lawyers who were citing fraud in the splitting of the inheritance.

Mary is a psychologist, Uni lecturer no less, which adds credence to her assessment. The spokes-person said Mary stands to loose a lot in this debacle but felt obligated as a US (& world) citizen.

Trumps lawyers said it was an attempt to affect the Nov elections.
Which a "Legal Eagle" on U toob is adamant Trump cannot use Article 2 to delay (or stay) because - The Constitution says............. - well watch the video.

If Mary does start doing interviews the old bunker inspector is going to feel it's impact twice. All these lawsuits indicate he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, of course there are plenty of other indicators to that effect these days.

The odd thing (still/so far) is that she still can't speak about it publicly while the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is active; it seems to be generally understood that NDA's don't stand in the face of hiding a criminal enterprise. Earlier this week, a judge in New York granted a temporary restraining order against Mary Trump and the publisher. But in a sign that the book is likely to come out regardless, Simon & Schuster was released from the order, after saying it had printed 75,000 copies and started to ship them to sellers, and had been unaware of the NDA.

The family that lies together hides together as Trump tries to block his niece from speaking. He can't block the writing, that cat's out of the bag.

In a statement, Ted Boutrous, a lawyer for Mary Trump, called the order in New York supreme court in Dutchess county “a prior restraint on core political speech that flatly violates the first amendment”.

The book, he said, “addresses matters of great public concern and importance about a sitting president in election year [and] should not be suppressed even for one day”.

To those who did not *actively choose* to ignore them, all the facts we needed to know to anticipate the Trump catastrophuk were in plain sight. Some people knew them and casually dismissed them. Some people did not recognize the true danger, and refrained from voting. I am not sure that this book would have made much difference back then. Other than "piling on," I don't know how much difference it makes even now. He is still who he always was; no surprises. At this point, whose mind that might be swayed has not already been made up? I honestly do not understand.

Trump's grounds for attempting to block the book's publication was a supposed agreement among Trump family members to refrain from publishing disparaging material about one another.

That such an agreement would be considered necessary says volumes.

The only other families I'm aware of who have similar agreements are what are usually called "Mafia Families".

From a clinical psychologist point of view I see that Mary has made an accurate diagnosis. That she is family makes her more than an expert witness. I made the same dignosis as Mary in posts here without the benefit of as many years of experiencing the behavior of Donald Trump.
At this point it is still opinion without a battery of tests that Donald has not submitted to. The only tests he hs taken has questions that show he can discern a rhino from a giraffe and elephant.
You be the judge, you can always 'go with your gut'.

She sounds like a throwback to "normal people." She and her brother were cheated out of their inheritance by the rest of the family, so some will claim "sour grapes."

The book must be going into extra printings; when I tried to order the hardback they said delivery would be sometime in August, so I cancelled that and ordered the Kindle version.

trump said of his graduation from Wharton that he "had the highest possible grades" but the graduation program doesn't list him among the honors students. That program is about the only document regarding his academic career he's allowed to squeak through the cracks. Interestingly he's called into question the legitimacy of President Obama's academic record though it's well documented that Prez O graduated magna cum lauda from Harvard Law School and was elected president of the Harvard Law Review.
