Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (book by Mary Trump) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 17 Jul 20 - 12:20 PM Yes it was. Here is a link to the Pulitzer Award-winning stories by David Barstow, Susanne Craig and Russ Buettner of The New York Times. Mary Trump contributed tax documents to help them write these stories. "For an exhaustive 18-month investigation of President Donald Trump’s finances that debunked his claims of self-made wealth and revealed a business empire riddled with tax dodges. (Moved by the Board from the Investigative Reporting category, where it was also entered.)" Once she'd participated in these, and when the whole thing with children taken from the families at the border began, she decided it was time to speak out. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (book by Mary Trump) From: Ebbie Date: 17 Jul 20 - 12:26 AM Interesting hour with Rachel Maddow. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (book by Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 16 Jul 20 - 04:52 AM I suppose bone spurs are hereditary. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (book by Mary Trump) From: Ebbie Date: 16 Jul 20 - 04:03 AM Mary Trump is scheduled to be on the Rachel Maddow show tomorrow (Thursday, July 16). From what M. Trump says, the father, Fred Trump, sr, was a real piece of work. So far I haven't heard any discussion of *his* father; DJT's grandfather emigrated from Germany. The story goes that he immigrated to America to avoid military duty in Germany and that later he petitioned the German government to allow him to return but was denied. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Mr Red Date: 16 Jul 20 - 02:16 AM Donald Trump's, shall we say, condition is all about his father, Fred Sr., There was an interview including with her life-long friend who was acting as a spoke-person. And a lawyer also gave an assessment that Simon & Schuster were not part of the original gagging order so would not be bound by it. AND alluded to Mary's lawyers who were citing fraud in the splitting of the inheritance. Mary is a psychologist, Uni lecturer no less, which adds credence to her assessment. The spokes-person said Mary stands to loose a lot in this debacle but felt obligated as a US (& world) citizen. Trumps lawyers said it was an attempt to affect the Nov elections. Which a "Legal Eagle" on U toob is adamant Trump cannot use Article 2 to delay (or stay) because - The Constitution says............. - well watch the video. Hallelujah X2. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 15 Jul 20 - 05:21 PM I agree with Penny :^/ |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 15 Jul 20 - 04:39 PM If Mary does start doing interviews the old bunker inspector is going to feel it's impact twice. All these lawsuits indicate he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, of course there are plenty of other indicators to that effect these days. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Ebbie Date: 15 Jul 20 - 02:52 PM I saw snippets last night of an interview she had yesterday (I believe) with George Stephannopolus (sp). Of course, given covid, it was done by video. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 15 Jul 20 - 02:01 PM A judge has cleared Mary to be able to give interviews but I haven't seen any. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 13 Jul 20 - 12:07 PM This book is released on Wednesday. If you have ordered it via Kindle be sure to turn it on so it will download automatically. The odd thing (still/so far) is that she still can't speak about it publicly while the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) is active; it seems to be generally understood that NDA's don't stand in the face of hiding a criminal enterprise. And since the family cheated Mary and her brother on the estate proceeds, the NDA should be thrown out as bogus. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jul/04/mary-trump-book-nda-fraudulent-financial-information.
The family that lies together hides together as Trump tries to block his niece from speaking. He can't block the writing, that cat's out of the bag.
The book, he said, “addresses matters of great public concern and importance about a sitting president in election year [and] should not be suppressed even for one day”. Legal document. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: keberoxu Date: 12 Jul 20 - 08:17 PM I'll have to look up Woody Guthrie's "Old Man Trump" because I forget which Mr. Trump the song is about. Mary Trump's book includes her conclusion that Donald Trump's, shall we say, condition is all about his father, Fred Sr., according to the Washington Post. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Mr Red Date: 10 Jul 20 - 02:26 AM So all we need is to find that guy? Was trump savvy enough to do it through lawyers? If not, I bet he has retrospectively. Another Stormy Daniels in a teacup? |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Neil D Date: 10 Jul 20 - 01:01 AM Speaking of Trump's academic record, one gem from Mary's book is that he got into Wharton by paying a smart guy to take his SAT. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 09 Jul 20 - 06:03 PM I agree. Now the clever Biden strategy of running against the most lethal hated social psychopath and ignorant ass hole in the world, seems to be working. Even Obama had a similar advantage of having such a dismal predecessor like W, despite running against Mitt the 'all white guy'. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: saulgoldie Date: 09 Jul 20 - 05:18 PM To those who did not *actively choose* to ignore them, all the facts we needed to know to anticipate the Trump catastrophuk were in plain sight. Some people knew them and casually dismissed them. Some people did not recognize the true danger, and refrained from voting. I am not sure that this book would have made much difference back then. Other than "piling on," I don't know how much difference it makes even now. He is still who he always was; no surprises. At this point, whose mind that might be swayed has not already been made up? I honestly do not understand. Saul |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Bee-dubya-ell Date: 09 Jul 20 - 01:29 PM Trump's grounds for attempting to block the book's publication was a supposed agreement among Trump family members to refrain from publishing disparaging material about one another. That such an agreement would be considered necessary says volumes. The only other families I'm aware of who have similar agreements are what are usually called "Mafia Families". |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Jul 20 - 07:29 PM I wish there was a clear link in the DT to the song by Woodie Guthrie. Is it "Old Man Trump" or tied to something else? |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 08 Jul 20 - 03:41 PM if you had strength what would you do with it? |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 08 Jul 20 - 11:45 AM O gawd, give me strength. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 08 Jul 20 - 11:16 AM From a clinical psychologist point of view I see that Mary has made an accurate diagnosis. That she is family makes her more than an expert witness. I made the same dignosis as Mary in posts here without the benefit of as many years of experiencing the behavior of Donald Trump. At this point it is still opinion without a battery of tests that Donald has not submitted to. The only tests he hs taken has questions that show he can discern a rhino from a giraffe and elephant. You be the judge, you can always 'go with your gut'. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Jul 20 - 11:02 AM She sounds like a throwback to "normal people." She and her brother were cheated out of their inheritance by the rest of the family, so some will claim "sour grapes." The book must be going into extra printings; when I tried to order the hardback they said delivery would be sometime in August, so I cancelled that and ordered the Kindle version. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Doug Chadwick Date: 08 Jul 20 - 10:37 AM If the author is a member of the Trump family, can we trust everything that is written? We should beware of believing every anti-Trump story just because it is what we want to hear. DC |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Jos Date: 08 Jul 20 - 09:35 AM Maybe 'the highest possible grades' means they were the highest he was capable of achieving. It doesn't say how 'high' they were. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 08 Jul 20 - 09:25 AM trump said of his graduation from Wharton that he "had the highest possible grades" but the graduation program doesn't list him among the honors students. That program is about the only document regarding his academic career he's allowed to squeak through the cracks. Interestingly he's called into question the legitimacy of President Obama's academic record though it's well documented that Prez O graduated magna cum lauda from Harvard Law School and was elected president of the Harvard Law Review. trump brings to mind that old joke about GH Bush- -How do you know he's lying? -His lips are moving. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: John MacKenzie Date: 08 Jul 20 - 08:55 AM So they say he paid someone else to take his university entrance examination. Now why does that not surprise me? What surprises me is that he had any formal education at all. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 08 Jul 20 - 07:42 AM There have been so many single moments that should have disqualified him from consideration for one of the most difficult and important jobs on earth in the minds of all but the most greedy, stupid and racist individuals among us and breaking with the tradition of releasing his tax returns is certainly one of them. The SCOTUS could right that wrong very soon, or not. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Helen Date: 08 Jul 20 - 07:23 AM Well, gillymor, hindsight is 20/20 vision. Personally, the big alarm bell for me - if I had been eligible to vote in your elections - was when he would not present his tax records. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 08 Jul 20 - 06:57 AM All the posts here are time stamped so even in this small pond one can see what was reported and when. There is also the fact of what is said by the candidate himself or by tweet. Much has been said about the President going with his gut. There are only two things that guts produce. Gas and crap. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: gillymor Date: 08 Jul 20 - 06:36 AM You must have a pretty good view from that high horse. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 08 Jul 20 - 06:11 AM Of course all the info on Trump was here during his candidacy but you chose to either not to believe it or not care and ignore the warnings. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Ebbie Date: 08 Jul 20 - 03:38 AM It is a pity that this kind of thing didn't come along when he was simply a candidate. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Stilly River Sage Date: 08 Jul 20 - 12:33 AM If you can't get MSNBC live, listen to the snippets of the Rachel Maddow show tomorrow. On July 7 she read long passages from the book (having gotten a copy herself today and read it cover to cover before the show). |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: keberoxu Date: 07 Jul 20 - 10:39 PM And now the New York Times, having got a copy of the book, is getting into the act. |
Subject: RE: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: Donuel Date: 07 Jul 20 - 06:15 PM Mary says Donald did not go to the hospital with his dieing brother but went to the movies instead. |
Subject: BS: Too Much And Not Enough (Mary Trump) From: keberoxu Date: 07 Jul 20 - 04:52 PM The Washington Post has got hold of a copy of Mary Trump's book about her uncle and the Trump family. They are printing little sound-bites from the book already. |
