How can we possibly punish someone who all their life has learned that special excemption, lieing cheating and stealing is the American way.

The Congressional committee can reveal all of the facts; the Justice Department has to act. There are cases brewing in other places beyond Washington, D.C. but all are moving at a snail's pace. The State of Georgia has made the most progress so far, and New York is working on his various business frauds.

If I were to talk with Nick Ackerman I would point out that Trump faces more exposure from Georgia and NYC grand juries that could result in a jury of his peers putting him in prison MORE than from Congress. I think Nick would agree in the end but it would get heated.

Watergate lawyer Nick Ackerman spoke with CNN Thursday after a late-night decision from the Supreme Court and said that former President Donald Trump is finally starting to face consequences for his actions. He even went on to suggest that if the evidence proves Trump intentionally tried to stop Congress then the former president could be on the hook for up to 20 years in prison.

"If you took it from Donald Trump's standpoint, he truly believes the three people he appointed to the Supreme Court have to be loyal to him. That they owe him," said Ackerman. "He looks at it as a quid pro quo type of arrangement he's used to in business. The fact of the matter is these Supreme Court justices stick to the rule of law and in this particular case what they did is they relied on the 1974 decision of U.S. v. "Because the Court of Appeals concluded that President Trump's claims would have failed even if he were the incumbent, his status as a former President necessarily made no difference to the court's decision," the Court said.

The coming elections are based on a fallacy that boomers and folks in their 50's will have an impact over 30%. They won't.
Last time the youngest voters we're at 40% of thr total.

The United States has only approached a democracy since 1965. Women could vote but people who were not white faced barriers to voting by Jim Crow laws. The Conservative party was founded on the premise of keeping the vote white. William F Buckly proposed that the Consevative party was not biased enough against minority voting.
While fascism is not conservatism it is important to know the reasons for American authoritarianism.
