I get broadcast television, I attach an old fashioned antenna to the back of my used flat screen old tech Hitachi (meaning it does not talk to the internet, as far as I know) and get still more television than I can take in. One of the providers is clearly a Christian operation, but they don't give me FOX news (FOX News provides FOX news). They have 5 channels: one that seems to be Swaggart & minions, another that has some dude talking about the proper prayers for final days, a channel showing old CSI shows with way too many featuring David Caruso, and finally FSTV, Free Speech TV, which features Democracy NOW and David Pakman and some old guy boosting unions like the New Deal just came off the wires. Anyhow, David Pakman had some guy on saying that the former POSOTUS is having trouble getting attorneys for various reasons, which is what you wouldn't normally expect from poliltical VIPs with notorioriety.But apparently The TRMPster has a reputation among lawyers. Not a good one. I'm not totally sure if he's slow writing out checks, or just a kind of legal entry drug into enough misdeeds to get his representatives sentenced for one thing or another.

Voted yesterday. Anchorage, Alask. Since the passing of our long-term solo House member, we had a special election for filling his slot from here and now to election day in November. Also to vote primary for all parties at once.

The special election was done ranked choice, my first experience of same. You have a 4 x 4 matrix, with the 3 party members and a write-in option. And you can rank them in order of preference. Or, as I did, just pick one.

Interestingly we had one Democrat and two Replicants in the special election runoff. It may happen that the Replicants split the conservative vote and we have a Dem for the next few months. By the time of the normal election, we'll probably go back to redasitgets. The choice will be between mediawhore wingnut and crimson knight.

Citizen Trump has no federal power and can legally move like a pawn. AG Garland can move like a Queen. Garland announced that since Trump is the one who made the silent search loud he may publicly release what Trump stole. Garland also took respondsibility for the search warrant since the supeona didn't work.
Now Trump has to respond which he can not do. All he can safely do is take the 5th. He can however ask people to riot or attack the FBI which is also a crime.

Discussion this morning of cross-department work regarding a search warrant. One agency (National Archives) want their papers back, another agency (the FBI) has to get it signed off by the director (a Trump appointee) and the head of Justice (Garland) and then in a different branch (judicial) to find a judge who will sign it. Trump could fight it but didn't - it wasn't going to work.
