Joe, Art,Sandy, Martin Ryan, Shambles and yourself Mick... have they found somewhere else to share their knowledge? Personally I check out MIDI sites, at the moment I'm checking out my family tree.... and when I'm not doing that (or often at the same time)..I chat in ICQ..... slainte alison |

From: northfolk/al cholger Date: 07 Jan 00 - 12:36 AM When I saw this thread I thought of a place that I had not been in over a year and went back...it is a place I would be happy to take you to...come to the fabulous ruins of Detroit at www.bhere.com/ruins/. I hope you find it as moving as I do. |

Mind you, I have to admit to visiting the Dorset Website, particularly during an extended period of homesickness before the holidays..... and then there is the Cadbury chocolate site, a few family history sites..... Awww, heck, looks like I'm as bad as everyone else!!! LTS |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: peg Date: 07 Jan 00 - 02:47 PM well my computer at work died today, and with it all my internet bookmarks were destroyed. So I have to painstakingly find all those sites again. But before that happened some of my favorite sites were: http://www.witchvox.com www.theonion.com www.astrologyzone.go.com www.salon.com www.wm3.org www.brittanica.com |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: Joe Offer Date: 07 Jan 00 - 04:30 PM I suppose I spend 90 percent of my online time, maybe more, at Mudcat. I suppose the rest of it is places I end up at through searches when I'm looking something up, or on the various music sites that are listed on the "links" page here. I like to browse through sites that have nautical stuff, particularly lighthouses. Hey, Northfolk, are you a Detroiter, too? I sent links to the fabulous ruins to my family, and to the Mudcatters I know of who once lived in the Detroit area (and a couple who still do). -Joe Offer, whose ancestors arrived with Cadillac- (On a ship, silly, not a car....) |

From: Mbo Date: 07 Jan 00 - 04:47 PM I'm usually here, but the other sites I frequent are: www.theonering.net (a great site for Tolkien fans) www.elo.nu (home of the official Electric Light Orchestra fan club) www.npr.org/programs/thistle (homepage for the NPR program "The Thistle and Shamrock") www.ceolas.org (the best site for Celtic music on the web) trillian.mit.edu/~jc/music/abc/FindTune.html (the best place to search for traditional music ABCs on the web) --Mbo |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: catspaw49 Date: 07 Jan 00 - 04:54 PM Pretty much I just hang out at the porn sites. My favorite is for masochistic, transvestite, gay, Quakers looking to have a sex change. You'd love it Mario. Then for a quick "pick me up" I surf over to this wonderful site and to make the most of my day and fulfill my spiritual needs, I go HERE and for mealtime, I suggest a visit here . Of course if I can't stand the excitement and want something bland, blank, and vacuous, then THIS is hard to beat. Spaw |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: northfolk/al cholger Date: 07 Jan 00 - 06:43 PM Joe, affirmative, I'm one of a rare breed, who worked most of my life in northern michigan and moved to Detroit when many of my friends were looking to retire further north. I have spent significant periods of time in Detroit prior to this recent move, and recall many of the ruins sites. The one that I like the best though is the first Canfield street home. Friends of mine rented there in the sixties, before it was restored...so everything isn't always abandoned and lost. Seems like an appropriate time to say thanks for this site, it's always a pleasure to come here, whether I'm lurking or spouting off. |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: Susan A-R Date: 07 Jan 00 - 09:16 PM Spaw, Cleigh is eating your shoes in revenge for that site. As for me, if I went anywhere else, I wouldn't have a life, or much of one anyway. This is absolutely enough cyber stuff for me. The rest is food, books, music and gardening. |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: Little Neophyte Date: 07 Jan 00 - 09:39 PM Catspaw, I love your choice of sites. You should add the guitar toilet seat covers to this list. I have not visited many other sites other than the Mudcat Cafe. But I would follow Catspaw's pickings. Quality selection, in my eyes. BB |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: Mark Cohen Date: 07 Jan 00 - 10:42 PM I too spend most of my limited online time at the Mudcat Forum. I've been trying to set up a website for parents of my pediatric patients to visit with reliable links, but haven't really done much on that. . . Mudcat is much more fun! I do try to make a daily visit to The Hunger Site, which makes a donation of 2 or 3 cups of rice or other staple food to someone in need every time someone clicks the button (limit once a day). The food is paid for by sponsors, so there is no charge to the clicker or the recipient. I don't have all the details but it is well worth visiting, often. Aloha, Mark |

Subject: RE: BS: Where do you go??? From: Mary G Date: 07 Jan 00 - 11:49 PM I go to the hunger site too...and run an email list for women affected by or in the Vietnam war...and and I read the Drudge report and editorials by Maureen Dowd and Mona Charen and love watching the seismographs of the various volcanos around here...mg |
