On Pete Seeger's Children Concert album he credits Henry My Son to R. Gould. Does anyone know who that is?

I thought this a Child Ballad ~ maybe the song has been rearranged and copyright comes into the equation ~ do you have Pete Seeger's word and or tune

It's clearly take off on Lord Randall. You can Pete Seeger sing on Youtube.

Henry My Son
HENRY MY SON

Where have you been all the day,
Henry my son?
Where have you been all the day,
my currant bun?
In the woods, dear mother
In the woods, dear mother
Mother be quick I got to be sick and
lay me down to die.

What did you do in the woods all day,
Henry my boy?
What did you do in the woods all day,
my saveloy?
Ate, dear mother. Ate, dear mother.
Mother be quick I got to be sick and
lay me down to die.
What did you eat in the woods all day,
Henry my son?
What did you eat in the woods all day
my pretty one?
Eels, dear mother. Eels, dear mother.
Mother be quick I got to be sick and
lay me down to die.

What color were those eels, Henry
my boy?
What color were those eels, my pride and joy
Green and yeller. Green and yeller.
Mother be quick I got to be sick and
lay me down to die.

Those eels were snakes, Henry my son.
Those eels were snakes, my pretty one.
Urgh, dear mother. Urgh, dear mother.
Mother be quick I got to be sick and
lay me down to die.

(Pete Seeger, on P. Seeger and A.Guthrie Together in Concert adds):

What color flowers do you want etc.
Green and yeller etc.

It is a child's version of the Child ballad, but very like the Dublin street song Frank Harte collected. The Lyrics.com website entry for Pete Seeger's recording credits the lyrics to Traditional/Jim Gould © The Bicycle Company, but I can't find anything else attributed to Jim Gould anywhere.

Interestingly, the version he recorded on double LP with Arlo Guthrie is credited as just "Traditional." I listened to both and didn't notice any significant differences.

Discogs credits the Gould as "Ron Gould." (link). You can read a bit more about Ron Gould here

You can find a bit more here and there by searching "Pete Seeger" "Ron Gould" (with the quotes).
