Jay Blades and the team bring three treasured family heirlooms, and the memories they hold, back to life.

Furniture restorer Will Kirk is tasked with repairing a writing bureau owned by Kathryn Lovell and her dad John from Northamptonshire. The bureau belonged to Kathryn’s grandfather, who ran the village post office for decades and was loved by all. However, the wood is now warped and split, the desk panel that folds down has suffered a nasty fracture, and a main hinge is broken.

Liz McMordie and her brother Sam from Northern Ireland are hoping precious metals expert Brenton West can preserve a link to their rich farming heritage. In the 1950s, their father won the world ploughing championships three times, but his trophies are now worn, scratched and chipped. Brenton gets to work recreating some tiny missing parts and gold-plates the silver ploughs.

Leather expert Susie is intrigued by a pair of dancing clogs. Louise Robertson from Oxford owns the clogs, which were handmade by her grandfather over a century ago. Susie nourishes the parched, stiff leather, fills in the many holes left by woodworm and returns the clogs to stand testament to Louise’s family’s dancing legacy and the craftsman that created them.

Episode 23 (incl. Dancing Clogs) has been cancelled - yet again - to make room for major announcements about quarrantine and curfews. The BBC website says that it is on BBC 2 HD Wales at 7.15 on Thusday morning. After that it should be on iPlayer at:

I like The Repair Shop. A couple of the series have aired and then been repeated on Australian TV and I've watched them all twice.

I'm not sure which series they were, but I haven't seen the episode about the dancing clogs.

S05E23 - Dancing Clogs was cancelled (2nd time) for Borris' announcement about '6 in a family bubble' and curfews due to the explosion in C-19 infections.

Most episodes can be downloaded for free from MVGroup.org - set up a free account, sign in, search the Main Tracker, download the torrent file. Then open this into such as the qBitTorrent app. And bob's your uncle.

I didn't see this episode but I'm sure I saw someone working on a sax in the background which I haven't seen on the prog. I think they've done a bass guitar and a banjo previously and drum, keyboards and squeezeboxes.

During ep. 24 they showed brief clips of Suzy ripping the stitching from what looked like a pair of clogs. I wonder what she used to fill the woodworm holes??!!

I've watched the show when Will Kirk has repaired woodworm damage. From memory, I think he may have cut out and replaced some bits or maybe filled the holes.

I have an antique pocket telescope made of brass with a leather covering. Unfortunately I do not live in the UK but in Ireland (The Republic). The little telescope was given me by my Grandfather when I was quite young and not cared for as it should have been. I do not know where he procured itand , perhaps it was given him by his eldest son who fought with a Cavalry Regiment in France in WW1 and survived. He was, I believe, with a scouting unit who were detailed to watch for enemy movement close to a Field HQs.
I would dearly love to have the telescope put back in working order but, other than having it done by the Repair Shop crew I do not know where it could be repaired and , I imagine that would be costly ?
