Subject: RE: Tional - virtual Scottish music fest From: GUEST Date: 19 Sep 20 - 12:43 PM "time tae pit the bloody lights oot!" I take it you are still using they auld fashioned paraffin lamps. I canny wait till a' you, younger than me "auld folks" get that new fangled electricity and get oan tae the internet an write new folk songs. Did ye know they stoaped makin penny caramels tae rot the weans teeth as well. An ye cannae get slates the way ye used tae an ye have tae use them new fangled tiles oan yer roof. I try to remember that one laddies fish is another laddies poison. Remember the happy times and appreciate them , the young folk are going through their happy times and makin music and entertaining their peer audiences as folk did in years gone by. BTW Laurel and Hardy were great when I saw them at the Glasgow Empire |

Subject: RE: Tional - virtual Scottish music fest: 18-20 Sept From: GUEST Date: 20 Sep 20 - 03:13 PM Funny how the great Scottish singers always sang without accompaniment. Some youngsters start off like this but it seems inevitable that the solo voice of Caitlinn McHoolichan becomes the C McH BAND with accordion, fiddle, clarsach, Irish drum & all the rest- WHY? The old songs don't need it- surely it couldn't be the chance of commercial glamour? .... or that the eventual the prospect of the HOLY GRAIL- ie a second rate pop career is too good to miss? |
