Subject: Origins: Obscure 'Tea Time' song From: GUEST,Vespa Perkins Date: 29 Sep 20 - 11:23 AM I'm hoping that you all can help me. I'm looking for the lyrics, origin, and name of a song that I've had stuck in my head for a decade and a half. Here is what I remember of the lyrics: Tea time, tea time, any time for me time, any time of day or night and sometimes in between! Bath buns, bath buns, Jam and [three unknown syllables] ones. Anything is fine for me, it's always time for tea. Yes, anything is fine for me, it's always time for tea. Here is what I remember the melody sounding like. I'm not certain if that was a verse or the chorus, and I don't know how much more of the song there was. If it helps, I found the song on a CD I had as a teenager. I don't remember the name of the group, or the album (hence my struggle). I believe it was a collection of a capella folk songs, all sung by a small group of women. Also on the CD was a lovely take on "Rose, Rose", combining it with "Ah, Poor Bird" and "Ride a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross." Thanks! |

Do any of these jump out at you? https://www.discogs.com/search/?q=%22tea+time%22&type=all&format_exact=CD&genre_exact=Children%27s If it was in the early years of CDs (80s/90s) you could try searching through cassettes instead of CDs. |
