I don't do 'guilty pleasures', or 'so bad it's good'..

Either a song evokes a positive response from me on it's, and my, own terms;
or it don't..

Mostly I'm just indifferent to a lot of what I hear..

Having said all that, I have a particular fondness for stupid novelty pop songs...

The creators of them must to be really intelligent and creative
to produce such gleefully idiotic records...

The Pogues - Maidrin Rua makes me smile because they are obviously just sitting around noodling between takes in the recording studio and then Shane MacGowan starts calling them back to work and the music gradually comes to a halt. He's not enjoying it but they are.
