This is an idea in progress and I am happy for more accomplished lyricists to use it as an inspirational parody.

I haven't tried to match up the tune variations/break to the lyrics so feel free to experiment with it, if you like the idea.

To the tune of The Toreador Song from Bizet's opera Carmen:

The Sociopath Song

Sociopath, narcissist,
dictator, and a racist.
When an insurrection he incites,
he does not take the blame.

Instead he parties with his friends
and family
a-a-a-all night.

Mary Trump has his number,
she knows very well
all the things he can do,
but he just calls it fake news,
Fa-ake news!

He says he'll be back
with his Proud Boys.
They stand back and stand by
watched by the FBI.

I kinda like the first post here by Og
I don't like the critic from the 'Observer'.

BEHIND BLUE/TRUMP EYES

No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the mad man
Behind trump eyes
And no one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my golf course seems to be
I have hours, all so lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what its like
To see my mob fail
Like I do
And I blame you !!!
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
So my pain and woe
Can't show through
But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my hotels seem to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is Vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what its like
To be mistreated, to be defeated
Behind blue eyes
And no…

Making Trump sound pathetic is my sting
Over here they are calling him the King

King of the Hype
Tune = King of the Road

New York City, borough of Queens, upwardly successful by all means,
European women & bankruptcies…income tax deficiencies.
Rode “The Apprentice” when he could, all the way just like we knew he would,
A busy man with game plan…King of the Hype.

Little buddy Kim Jong-un, North Korean honeymoon,
Used to call him “Rocket Man”…until he cut and ran,
Tried Ukrainian “Quid pro Quo,” impeachment followed apropos,
A wily con, he hung on…King of the Hype.

With Corona Virus, he would fail big,
Tried to deny it, tried to renege,
Election breached, twice impeached he never concedes, he gives

Pardons to those who pay, get ‘em quick before he goes away,
Five years of pushing lies…still briefed by Putin’s spies.
He likes insurrections & QAnon, golden showers kinda turn him on,
A lousy friend with no friends…King of the Hype.

This one never get old, unfortunately:

Chanted Sermon by Rev. Rubin Lacy
Bakersfield, California - 1967
Adapted by Dahlov Ipcar © 1974
Further adapted by Charlie Ipcar, 1993

The Four Horsemen

They tell me in the morning,
When the horses come out the door,
They'll be standing there a-waiting,
To see the generals they been fighting for.

First come a rider on a red horse,
His armor shining in the sun,
A flaming sword in his hand,
His helmet a Gatling-gun –
The face of War.

Under his horse's hoofs,
The dead and dying,
Trampled in the sand,
Bodies torn by grenades,
Shattered by shrapnel,
Rot in no man’s land –
But with visions of victory in their eyes.

Refrain:

And I hear a voice a-crying,
“Is that the general we been fighting for?”
And I hear a voice answer,
“Yes, that's the general you been fighting for.”

Next come a rider on a black horse,
His body all covered with sores,
Reeking of gangrene,
From his nose and ears blood pours –
The face of Pestilence.

Under his horse's hoofs,
The sick and the dying,
People too weak to crawl,
Bodies wracked with pain,
Vomiting black blood,
For mercy they do call –
The madness of fever in their eyes.

Refrain:

Then, out come a rider on a white horse,
His body all covered with flies,
Thin and gaunt and haggard,
Rotting teeth and bloodshot eyes –
The face of Famine.

Under his horse's hoofs,
Children with swollen bellies,
Pipestem arms and legs;
Across the blackened fields,
Mothers with outstretched hands,
For bread and water beg –
The madness of starvation in their eyes.

Refrain:

At last, come a rider on a pale horse,
His body but a rack of bone,
Slashing a scythe left and right,
Eyes like balls of fire in a head of stone –
The face of Death.

And under his horse's hoofs,
Desolation and destruction,
On the face of the earth;
Gravestones and dry bones crackling,
Black ashes swept up in the wind,
None left to mourn or curse –
The madness of another great victory.

Refrain:

And I hear a voice a-crying,
“Is that the general we been fighting for?”
And I hear another voice answer,
“Yes, that's the general you been fighting for.”

“Oh, Lord, let me go!
I can't make war no more;
Oh, Lord, let me go home in peace!
I seen the generals we been fighting for.”

Elly Wininger is organizing this fundraiser.

"Help Me Get This Song Recorded
    $246 raised of $2,275 goal

I wrote the song in this video in response to the events of Jan. 6, 2021. I would like to record it with a full band. I feel it's important to get the song out to as many people as possible right away as the issues it brings up are currently needing our attention. I also feel it is important to pay the musicians! I would use first class locally based Woodstock NY "Wrecking Crew" musicians, as well as a local studio/engineer since they (and myself) have been so negatively impacted by the loss of livelihood due to the pandemic.

Those Gallant Red Hats (G)

Tune = After the Ball was Over

After the votes were counted, after the deed had been done,
Many a heart had been broken, vic-try had still not been won.
“Hold on,” our bold leader urged us, “just bully those weak bureaucrats,
Never give in for an instance, keep wearing those gallant red hats.

Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, all can be turned if we press,
Law suits, and recounts, and lying, cheating, subversion and stress.
Keep up the pressure on Georgia, push on ‘til others fall flat,
All of the nation will know you, in your gallant red hat.”

After the mob has all gone home, after the smoke fin-ly clears,
Gone is the strength of our people, gone are the brave volunteers.
Gone is the voice of our leader, purged from its old habitat,
All I have left of this glory, is my gallant red hat.

Anusface,
We're going to vote and put you in your place
And do we really need to make the case
That your face
Looks just like an anus
And your behavior's heinous.
Anusface,
You can't divide us by religion or by race
And when the votes are cast
We're going to see the last
Of your ugly anusface.

Rainy Night In Georgia

How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It's life and you just got to play the game

But it's a rainy night in Georgia
Baby, it's a rainy night in Georgia
Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
Kinda lonely now and it's rainin' all over the world

"After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote."

Viewed from Trumpland, Dubya looks quite an agreeable sort. Hell - Nixon starts looking cuddly.

The really scary thing to contemplate is that evidently most of the millions who voted for Trump weren't even doing it while holding their noses, they actually like and admire the man. And that is pretty sick.

As for "After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote," I hope we won't have to wait for that to happen, because I doubt very much if it ever will. He'll be screaming "I was robbed" for the next four years, and on into the next election and those voters will be screaming along with him, most likelly.

TIME TO GO   Paul Clarke  2020

It’s time to go, to stop the tantrums and the lies.
Too long you’ve trumpeted your bleatings to the skies
with your usual sound and fury (no change there) and so
let’s get this done and make the break more civilized.
A thousandfold I’ve heard you recount your complaints.
Seems our attempts to build consensus w’all in vain.
Stubborn losers taint whatever they come up against;
not even bleach removes the stains.

It’s time to go, though you won’t acknowledge that you’re beaten,
when it’s YOU who keeps accusing ME of cheating.
Crying foul won’t change a tittle:  you’ll still only
quit the field of battle    in full retweet.
No, it’s your throwaway misogyny that stabs
me deepest.  Let me tell you, friendly neighbourhood fabulist,
that this ’ere pussycat’s not up for grabs
and I, for one, won’t mourn your absence

when you go.  However was such trumpery called smart?
Jeez, I suppose I should have sensed it from the start
that boorish overstaying your welcome, like a fart.
It’s time to go, to gimme the chance to ventilate the rooms,
to change the locks, to get my life back, thanks, while you
make-believe that YOU still run the show.

It’s time to go, it’s time to face the cruel morning,
with its wake-up-and-smell-the coffee final warning.
This skiv-fefe-vy’s* in the kitchen making toast
and setting off the smoke-alarm:  well, is it dawning
that it’s the toast, amigo, I’m sure you’ll be tomorrow?
It’s the toast – Amen! – I’ll propose, with little sorrow,
to the news that’s not as fake as the last four years’
worth, since we bid you bonjour?  Now

it’s time to forgo those trumped-up charges in the courts,
demanding more than your fair share from this divorce,
by the rules of Eeny, misdemeanour, Miny, Mo.
Quoth the ravin’ mad pretender:  “Evermore”.
Scant, faded hopes you’d be departing in good grace
once some ordinary Joe was in your place.
I get that failure’s not a flavour to your taste,
but don’t forget to take both your faces

when you go.  I need proper closure, I need rest
from one so overweening, crude and self-obsessed.
If it’s all for show, just change your diapers and get dressed:
it’s time to go.  For all your narrow, racist, thin-skinned vanity,
Reality TV won’t trump reality –
that’s why you’ve had the old heave-ho –

it’s time to go.  The party’s over, the music’s stopped,
the guests long gone, the booze run out, the balloons all popped.
So bad, so bad, the shock that yesterday the host
had been rejected.  Hasn’t yet the penny dropped
if I stir the cocoa**-mugs so loud the spoons get bent?
Still can’t decide if you’re obtuse or merely dense.
To your question “Have I won the day?”, the answer,
Mr FORMER President, this time, is “No”.

Note: this isn't a parody, in that it has an [I hope] original tune
* a US friend reports that "skivvies" mean men's underwear, rather than lowly kitchen maid, though I think that applies only in the plural, where this is singular. "While this drudge…" might replace that line
** same person pointed out that Americans serve coffee to end a party. That actually wasn't the point, but maybe Americans don't habitually take cocoa before bed. It's supposed to be a blatant hint to a "sticky" guest. Is hot chocolate a more 'American' nightcap? Anyway, Mudcat is a bit more internationalist than that, so I leave it as it is, since it's hardly worth striving for an alternative.

AFTER EDITING

Anything that happens in life
Can happen in DC
You can make 'em mad
You can make 'em cry
Anything and everything goes

(Chorus Thats entertainment)
[SCHUMER]

The clown
With his tweets falling down
Or the case
of the man in disgrace
Or the scam
That the country can't stand
That's entertainment!

[PELOSI]
The lights
On first ladies in tights

[BIDEN]
Or the pride
Of Nazis worst side

[SCHUMER]
Or the ball
Where he, infected them all

[BIDEN, SCHUMER, AND PELOSI]
That's entertainment!

[PELOSI]
The plot
Could be hot
Simply teaming with porn

[SCHUMER]
A gay
Senator
Who misses his ex

[BIDEN]
With McCain there never was sex

[SCHUMER]
Ob struc tion by the Congress
Feels like they have wronged us.

[NANCY]
The jerk
Who is thrown out of work

[JOE]
By the boss
Who is thrown for a lo$$

[CHUCK]
By a flirt
Who is doing him dirt

[ALL]
The world is a stage
The stage is DC
Thats entertainment!

(instrumental break)

[ALL]
The doubt
While the jury is out
Or the drill
When the judge has his fill
Or the case
Of the man who's disgraced
That's entertainment!

[NANCY]
The whore
Donald called Storm

[CHUCK]
He's the king
Of an underworld ring

[CHUCK AND JOE]
He yells fake
and tries to escape

[ALL]
That's entertainment!
It might
Be a fight
Like you see on TV
A show
that blows
About who stays or who goes
By a huge childish creep
In a time slot thats sweet

And everyone ends in mincemeat.

The gag
Where he's waving the flag
That began
With a crooked con man
Hip hip hooray
The American way!
The world is a stage
The stage in DC
THATS entertainment!

Let me know if you find this offensive

One Sunday Morning (Based on traditional (offensive) Irish Song).

One Sunday morning, while the rally massed,
a Proud Boy tried to block me and I killed him for his past.
Yes I killed him for his past, me boys, and sent his soul to hell,
and when he got back he had a strange tale to tell.

When the Proud Boy dies his toes turn cold.
His bones begin to rattle and the devil takes his soul.
The gates of hell fly open and the devil cries for joy:
“I’ve a nice spot to fetch for you, me bold Proud Boy.

?If I had a yard of a Proud Boy’s skin
sure I’d make it into drums for me bold Biden Men.
When the drums begin to rattle and the fifes begin to play
sure we’ll march to the White House on Inauguration Day.

Video starts with a lonely electric Texas guitar and helicopter sounds...
Spoken: Put your hands in sight and get out of the car.
Half Sung: put your hands in sight
You can't win this fight
Get out of the car,
You're leaving all right
Now Get Out Of The Car

Trump: Looks like the Army
and its just for us

Mitch: Lets not get caught

Trump: Whaduya mean?

Mitch: Lets not get caught,
Lets Keep going...

Trump: You mean go straight?
I don't know how
I don't even drive

Mitch: lets keep goin

* steps on the pedal, the tires spin and they go over the cliff into the Potomac far below.

Another verse for 4.05:

His daughter, Ivanka
She ordered a tanker

In less than a minute
He took a bath in it,
Saying, It only slurs....my....speech!

Running Round the White House when He Runs

According to the failing New York Times
The FBI investigated ME for crimes!
There was no proof against me, no proof if you please
So I fired Lyin' James Comey - he’s a sleaze

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

And Wray won't bend the truth – it’s such a shame
I've got a pink slip here that bears his name
He testified against me, against ME the President
I'll break the FBI as punishment

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

Bill Barr is running his investigation down
He's found nothing wrong, but he’s a clown
If he won’t do any more, then I’ll declare Martial Law
And a re-vote or a shooting Civil War

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without nazis on my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how Dems did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so they're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find them with that smile upon their face
I should have changed the secret service, I should have hidden white house keys
If I'd known for just one second they'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anywhere
Weren't you the one who tried to impeach me with your lies?
You think I'd crumble?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to fire, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all the fascist base and I know that Fox will survive
I will survive, hey, hey
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying hard to sue in court to mend my broken heart
And I spent oh-so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to tweet
But now I tweet full time and I'm golfing
Some place new
I'm not that chained-up giant person born to just hate you
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
Well, now I'm planning a long term coup for 2024
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome at my door
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with your lies?
You think I'd crumble?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to golf, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got Putin on my side and I know I will survive
I will survive
Oh
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not for Covid anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hoax the news and tell all those lies?
You think I'd grow stale?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will prevail
Oh, as long as I know how to fix elections, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my hate to give and I'll survive
I will survive
to tell my lies

"If what you say in your first paragraph [above] henryp is what you and Americans in general think and feel - then the USA is stuffed and will remain bitterly divided."

We'll see. But democracy would have been at even greater risk if Trump had won a second term. I can't see Biden governing by tweets he makes up to contradict the truth.

If first you don't succeed
try 2 out of 3
If stiil they don't agree
Go Ahead Try 3 out of 5

To be a proper dictator
you'll have to take some lives
Some will think you're greater
and believe your grander lies

When there is no right or wrong
You can do anything
Ban all the favorite folk songs
and crown yourself a King.

When insane outnumbers sane
Your power will be complete
You can cause death and pain
Good folks will gasp in defeat

The time is past to change things
You wasted critical days
being stupidly silent
now even you are crazed

It does not feel like a world of right or wrong anymore.
It feels like SANE or INSANE.

Perhaps it has always been the case but its more obvious to me now.
I have always supported helping people regain their sanity...
But where and how do we profit to help Trump to regain a sanity he has never had? Sometimes there is no cure. I only know that truth and its delivery system humor, is an effective vaccine to stem the infection of insanity.

It is my belief more insanity is learned than are born with it.
Insanity itself is a pandemic. I repeat
Insanity itself has its own pandemic today.
Socially distancing ourselves from insanity has always been done.
When the insane gather on social media, infection spreads uncontrolably. Its spreads even faster when the incompetant are paid money or salaries to repeat and support insanity.

Obs, many people around the world are breathing a huge sigh of relief, not least in this country. The leader of the 'Free World' (debatable) being an absolute fruitcake and then being deposed is surely something to celebrate, and expressing our joy here is something I'm happy with. If political satire of any level is not your thing, then fine, just go off and play somewhere else.

In many respects, the election was between voters who supported Trump and those who didn't. And Biden was widely supported as the candidate who wasn't Trump. So the result can be seen just as much as a defeat for Trump as a victory for Biden.

And people are entitled to celebrate the defeat of Trump. After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote.

Okay Obs, let's see yours! - asked fellow UK resident Steve Gardham a few days ago.

Well Steve, I would like to know why I as a British citizen would want to parody some ditty that fell into the category described in the title of this thread? What would be the purpose and the point?

I dare say had the vote gone the other way and songs about Joe losing started to appear [Don't think that there any about Hillary losing last time round] I think most posting here would be complaining about tasteless and unhelpful "triumphalism".

My comment regarding Donuel's parody effort [13 Nov 20 - 07:43 PM] was that when compared to others was pretty pathetic.

In general the "songs" fortunately are all pretty well time limited and thankfully the harm they might or might not do is mitigated by the fact that the prats penning them have no opportunity to "air" them in public.

Joe Biden has got a tough enough job ahead of him as it is - Best let him get on with it unhampered and unhindered.

Old English saying - "Least said soonest mended."

There’s a man that rules our country with his cronies and his flunkies
And he’s caused more harm than any scourge or war..
He spreads sickness and corruption, but thank God there’s still an option
So that we don’t have to take it any more.
He’s been bullyin’ and scammin’, causin’ misery, death and famine , and the list of all his crimes goes on and on.
But now it’s time for the election; If we make the right selection
Then soon the lyin scoundrel will be gone.
(CHORUS : Send the Trumpster to the dumpster, and we’ll all be glad
And we’ll all be glad, and we’ll all be glad.
Send the Trumpster to the dumpster, and we’ll all be glad—and we’ll all be glad when he’s gone.
2.We’re so tired of all his lyin, ’ of watchin thousands dyin from the virus that he said would go away. And of how he works with Putin,so I tell you sure as shootin’ we’ll be celebratin’ this Election Day.
There’s just a couple weeks to go now —so,just do it, fast or slow now.—but be sure to get your vote in before long.
Use the mail or voting station : Either way l we’ll save our nation—-
And now let’s all sing th9s electi0n song:
(CHORUS). Send the Trumpster to,the dumpster and we’ll all be glad, and we’ll all be glad, and we’ll all be glad—When the Trumpster’s in the dumpster, then we’ll all be glad —Yes, we’ll all be glad when he’s gone.

If the video doesn’t post above , you can also see it on my Facebook page—Joseph Rodgers, ICC, Honolulu—or on some other FB sites, like Defeat Trump,2020 or Election 2020–and , by Googling the title, on Google compilations of Trump/political videos —I’m glad and grateful to see it there , together with media reports, cartoons from the press, etc.—because I’ve written some hit songs in the past—-but this and similar anti-Trump songs—like many we see here —are, I think, the most important musical contributions we can make to the survival of democracy, truth , decency and freedom of thought and expression in the US.

HE'S DEAD, BUT HE WON'T LIE DOWN

Gracie Fields (with Ray Noble's Orch) - 1932

My Sister's young man is a hundred and three
Yes, a hundred and three is he
And he's real cold storage meat
From his head right to his feet
He's dead, but he won't lie down

Now, she's his Juliet and he's her Romeo
Though his real name is Septimus Brown
From his soul romance has fled
Still she likes his old bald head
He's dead, but he won't lie down

He won't lie down
He's dead, but he won't lie down

At a movie show once, full of passion and love
He said, "Be Mrs. Septimus Brown", huh-huh
And although he'd got the cramps
He said, "Vamp me, Darling, vamp", hee-hee-hee-hee
He's dead, but he won't lie down

Now, Septimus Brown has a large family
It's the biggest one for miles around
He's had children by the score
But he thinks he'd like some more
He's dead, but he won't lie down

He won't lie down
He's dead, but he won't lie down

Now, late last night in the old cemet'ry
With all the pretty tombstones 'round
Sister said, "Oh, do behave, a-hah-hah"
Then they both fell in a grave
He's dead, but he won't lie down

He won't lie down
He's dead, but he won't lie down

I think he's lying down now
I think they're both lying down, huh-huh

(Posterity will ne'er survey/A nobler grave than this/Here lie the bones of Castlereagh/Stop, traveller, and piss) I came up with the following

Epitaph for a Donald:
A gravestone with a toilet bowl rampant, and the lines:
Unmourn'd by Man, unmourn'd by God
Surrounded by uncaring sod
Here lie the bones of Donald Trump
Stop, traveller, and dump

Mine's on another thread but I'll paste it in again:

Chorus by Bob Franke, © 1982 Telephone Pole Music
New verses by Charlie Ipcar, 11-9-2020

The Great Storm Is Over

In four long years we’ve not sighted land;
The captain is ranting, he’s unfit to command;
The wild winds roar, and the great waves roll;
Let’s seize this ship now and save our souls!

Chorus:

Alleluia, the great storm is over,
Lift up your wings and fly!
Alleluia, the great storm is over,
Lift up your wings and fly!

Children in cages, their parents deportees,
Tear down your wall now and set them all free;
We're all immigrants in this fair land,
Working together, no tyrant can command. (CHO)

The pandemic has raged throughout this land,
The Trump and his cronies have scarce raised a hand;
Thousands have died now; there seems no reprieve,
Leaving behind all their loved ones to grieve. (CHO)

All votes matter: black, brown and white,
Working together we’ve won the good fight;
That tyrant in the White House may never concede,
But he’ll be evicted, and we’ll all be freed! (CHO)

but I still wonder what Spaw would proclaim about the whole disaster.

Maybe he would recommend sending Donald Trump
to the Neil Young Center for the Terminally Screwed?
Certainly the Trump would NOT be pigeonholed in the
James Taylor Catatonic Blandness Rehab wing
or whatever it is called.

Now that Spaw has 'graduated',
who IS the successor CEO at NYCFTTS anyhow?

We've already said "goodbye"
Since you gotta go, oh you'd better
Go now, go now, go now (go now, ooh)
Before you see me cry?

I don't want you to tell me just what you intend to do now
'Cause how many times do I have to tell you Donald, Donald
I'm not in love with you now
Whoa oh oh oh

We've already said "so long"
I just want to see you go, oh you'd better
Go now, go now, go now (go now, ooh)

Don't you even try?
Tellin' me that you really don't want it to end this way
'Cause Donald,Donald, can't you see I’d hate you to stay, yeah
Since you gotta go, oh you'd better
Go now, go now, go now (go now,…

So, we wrote a parody of Lisa Null's wonderful "I'm Going Home to Georgia" yesterday when we learned that Joe Biden was projected to win the state of Georgia. We sang it for Lisa tonight, and she approves. It's our second topical election song; the first "Hold the Recount Now," was an election chantey written in 1980 on our way to the NOMAD festival in Connecticut in the midst of the Bush v. Gore election mess. This one still has some life in it until the January 5 Georgia runoff, which holds the possibility of two Senate seats. Here you go. Feel free to sing and share.

Marching To (Victory In) Georgia 2020*
© Kathy Westra Stephens & George Stephens, on learning that Joe Biden has won Georgia on 11/13/2020

My body’s revived, my good spirits returned
They’re calling the race in Georgia
My heart is rejoicing at the news I just learned
Joe Biden has won in Georgia.

Chorus 1:
Pour out a drink; we’ve lived through the worst.
Democracy weathered the stress.
By the liar-in-chief it was put to the test,
But truth has prevailed in Georgia.

Now that four years are over, I hope we’ve all learned
There’s more than one struggle in Georgia.
Freedom’s a prize that’s repeatedly earned,
Let’s take back the Senate in Georgia!

Chorus 2:
Sing an old freedom song, sing it out strong
The old marching songs are the best
In a few more short weeks, we’ll bench Mitch and the rest
Watch out Senate! We’re coming for Georgia!

Across this good nation the people arose
Tonight, there is victory in Georgia.
Against hate and division, it’s Joe that we chose,
Democracy won in Georgia.

Final Chorus:
As we toast our success, we must never forget
There’s still one more critical test:
For Ossoff and Warnock, march on! Do not rest!
Till we’ve flipped the Senate in Georgia.

Then we’ll flip off McConnell in Georgia.

* Sung to the tune of “I’m Going Home to Georgia,” a marvelous original song by the marvelous Elisabeth Null. We’re sorry, Lisa. We needed to do this! Think of it as a purgative sequel to our 1980 Bush-Gore election chantey. “Hold the Recount Now.”

Tune: He'll Have To Go [Allison, rec. by Jim Reeves]

Grubby fingertips are all over your cellphone:
you’ve been sending angry texts all afternoon.
Bet you freaked when you learned the numbers were too low,
the folks were telling you “good riddance”, we elected Joe.

Ridicule our intelligence, you used to do.
Are you holding out for more pow’r, like a spoilt fool?
For you’ve had time enough to unwind sufficient rope
—— to hang yourself, you bellend.  We elected Joe.

You can claim a fraud the courts won’t hear, while you’re in your La-la-land.
We don't want you, and so eff-in’ go:  what do you not understand?

So cut your tweeting:  it’s all over, you’re on your own.
This time round you’ve had the push from off your throne.
—— Well, you went to turn on Fake Fox News – hello? –
there’s your friends say’ng:  “It's official — he’ll have to go.”

Liz Turbill's song is maybe not one that will ever catch on but the manner is a spot-on evocation of 19th century electoral doggerel.   The only kind of topical song to be less comprehensible decades down the line is football songs.

In light of Giuliani's recent shenanigans I had an ides of rewriting an old Two-Tone song in his honor. When I looked up the lyrics I realized I didn't have to change a single word:

Message to You, Rudy
The Specials

Stop your messing around
Better think of your future
Time you straightened right out
Creating problems in town

Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

Stop your fooling around
Time you straightened right out
Better think of your future
Else you'll wind up in jail

Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

Stop your messing around
Better think of your future
Time you straightened right out
Creating problems in town
Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you
Rudy, a message to you

You must leave now, take what you need, you think will last
But whatever you wish to keep, you better grab it fast
Yonder stands your orphan with his gun
Crying like a fire in the sun
Look out the saints are comin' through
And it's all over now, Baby Blue...

Somehow Dylan always comes through with something that fits.

There are times Donuel when you really just shouldn't bother, you have just demonstrated just such a time. Same goes for Campin Jack and Steve Gardham who have got absolutely no skin in the game - all a bit pathetic really.

I wish Joe Biden every success in his forthcoming Presidency, he has a great deal to contend with over quite a spectrum of life in the United States of America.

I hear the train a-comin'
It's rollin' on its journey
And I ain't seen the sunshine
Since the end of 2020
I'm stuck in Folsom Prison
And time keeps draggin' on
But that train keeps a-rollin'
On down to San Antone
When I was just a baby
My Mama told me, "son
Always be a good boy
Don't ever play with guns"
But I shot a man on 5th ave.
Just to watch him die
When I hear that whistle blowin'
I hang my head and cry
I bet there's rich folks eatin'
At my resaurants n'bars
They're probably drinkin' cofefe
And smokin' big cigars
I know I don't have it comin'
I know I should be free
But those people keep a movin'
And that's what tortures me

Well if they freed me from this prison
If that railroad train was mine
I bet I'd move it on a little farther down the line
Far from prison, mara lagos where I want to stay
And I'd let that lonesome whistle blow my blues away…

The creep will not go, Like pandemics
he stays 'n grows cuz he is endemic
The US like the Vatican, now has 2 Popes.
One to get things done, the other's just a dope.
Sugar in the gas tank, sand in the gears
gum up all the works, for years and years
The brat wants sweet revenge, for losing face.
Sayin "Its not my fault, if I lose one race".
All his 2 faced friends, agree he won.
Pretending that he's right, is kinda dumb.
He's kinda like th' kid who steals the trophy .
He eats choc'late cake, an' drinks kofefe.
he grabs the puss, an' likes ho pee.
I know for me, he's beyond creepy.
So if anybody knows how to make him go
Send all your e mails to the guy named Joe.

Recounting Through Georgia

Bring another coffee, Boy, th'result is still on hold,
Though we've waited three long nights to see the race unfold,
Biden reached his 2-7-3, but Trump will not be told:
He wants a recount in Georgia!

Hurrah! Hurrah! Joe won his 2-7-3!
Hurrah! Hurrah! the land will soon be free!
Pennsylvania carried it, but Trump still will not see
So now they're recounting through Georgia!

He speaks of dead folk voting & of other unlikely tales:
Dodgy postal ballots, yes, & bogus votes in bales,
He really can't accept that his campaign has simply failed,
So they have to recount in Georgia.

Hurrah! Hurrah! etc.

Yes, and there were many folk who wept with grateful tears,
Sensing real integrity they had not seen for years,
Singing on The Avenue, the president surely hears -
But still wants a recount in Georgia!

Hurrah! etc.

Trump just won't admit he's lost & he will not concede,
Cooperate with handover nor yet the country lead,
Though Covid's taking many lives, his ego he must feed -
All he wants is a recount in Georgia.

Hurrah! etc.

Georgia's sixteen college votes could never beat the rest.
Pity poor poll-workers who recount at Trump's behest.
Covid is rampaging from the east coast to the west,
(But) all he wants is a recount in Georgia!

Hurrah! Hurrah! Joe's won his 2-7-3!
Hurrah! Hurrah! The land will soon be free!
Pennsylvania carried it, but Trump still will not see
So still they're recounting in Georgia!

The Last Trump, a survival hymn

O the seventh day of November
Is a great day to remember.
We’ll be there when the last trump resounds!
There’ll no longer be a place
For any hatred based on race.
We’ll be there when the last trump resounds!

Chorus
I’ll be there!
I’ll be there!
I’ll be there when the last trump resounds!
All women and all men
Can hope once again!
I’ll be there when the last trump resounds!

Let me be a witness
To Trump’s utter lack of fitness.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!
He and all his progeny
Have spread racism and misogyny.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!

His lies and hypocrisy
Have undermined democracy.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!
He may be a-hidin’
But the future is abidin’.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!

The Republican Grand Old Party
Is no longer hale and hearty.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!
The elephant in the room
Goes marching to its doom.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!

No more pussies he’ll be grabbing,
No more bullying and backstabbing.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!
May he soon be forgotten,
We’ll be purged of something rotten.
Let me be there when the last trump resounds!

Matthew Edwards 10 November 2020

Lorcan Otway (InOBU here at Mudcat) has posted these lyrics on his Facebook page:

Here is the new executive edition of Let Him Go... with new words by ... well... me.

Donald Trump was done with Stormy,
and he din't know what to do.
So he took a sudden notion to screw both me and you.
So he gathered up the Proud Boys, nazi party and the Klan
and lied his way into office as the leader of the land.

Chorus:
Let him go let him tarry, let him sink or let him swim
he doesn't give a damn for us or we a damn for him
He can go to Mara Lago, or he can go to hell,
but he'll find a process server, ringing on his bell.

He never pays his taxes, and he lies with every breath.
He holds big stupid rallies where he's spreading Covid death.
He never pays his workers, and I hope he does enjoy,
selling out his country cause he's Putin's little boy

Here it is on YouTube.

Here is the Facebook entry with the song (and a way to follow along with remarks, etc.)

And in case he decides to flee the country and come back to his Scottish roots:
to the tune of “My Bonnie lies over the Ocean”.

Donald’s Demise
Though Donald still lies in the US,
Though Donald still lies o’er the sea,
Though Donald still lies about ae thing,
Don’t bring back my Donald to me.
Chorus
Bring back, bring back, don’t bring back my Donald to me, to me,
Bring back, bring back, don’t bring back my Donald to me.

Though Donald could never stand losers,
He’s no good at losing, agree?
When Biden will bide in the White House,
No losers in Lewis you’ll see.
Chorus
Losers, losers, no losers in Lewis you’ll see, you’ll see,
Losers, losers, no losers in Lewis you’ll see.

new words by Vikki Appleton Fielden

Find every ballot
Near or remote
Absentee or early
Please count every vote

Find every ballot
Search every poll
Honor every voter
Justice is our goal

A goal we extol
In the land of the free
For it's your right to vote
Though you may not agree... with me.

Expats and soldiers
Black, white and gay
Country folk and city
All deserve their say

Count every ballot
Swig some caffeine
Honor every voter
Justice is our dream

Tell me, Donald, is it right,

Pack your bags and wave bye bye
Wipe a tear from your bleary eye,
