Okay Obs, let's see yours! - asked fellow UK resident Steve Gardham a few days ago.

Well Steve, I would like to know why I as a British citizen would want to parody some ditty that fell into the category described in the title of this thread? What would be the purpose and the point?

I dare say had the vote gone the other way and songs about Joe losing started to appear [Don't think that there any about Hillary losing last time round] I think most posting here would be complaining about tasteless and unhelpful "triumphalism".

My comment regarding Donuel's parody effort [13 Nov 20 - 07:43 PM] was that when compared to others was pretty pathetic.

In general the "songs" fortunately are all pretty well time limited and thankfully the harm they might or might not do is mitigated by the fact that the prats penning them have no opportunity to "air" them in public.

Joe Biden has got a tough enough job ahead of him as it is - Best let him get on with it unhampered and unhindered.

Old English saying - "Least said soonest mended."

In many respects, the election was between voters who supported Trump and those who didn't. And Biden was widely supported as the candidate who wasn't Trump. So the result can be seen just as much as a defeat for Trump as a victory for Biden.

And people are entitled to celebrate the defeat of Trump. After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote.

If what you say in your first paragraph henryp is what you and Americans in general think and feel - then the USA is stuffed and will remain bitterly divided. Good luck, you'll need it.

Obs, many people around the world are breathing a huge sigh of relief, not least in this country. The leader of the 'Free World' (debatable) being an absolute fruitcake and then being deposed is surely something to celebrate, and expressing our joy here is something I'm happy with. If political satire of any level is not your thing, then fine, just go off and play somewhere else.

That's where we can agree, Obs. To me the fact that millions of people actually voted for this nutter is far more worrying than him losing or winning.

And of course there are many similarities this side of the pond, but that could be construed as threaddrift.

If first you don't succeed
try 2 out of 3
If stiil they don't agree
Go Ahead Try 3 out of 5

To be a proper dictator
you'll have to take some lives
Some will think you're greater
and believe your grander lies

When there is no right or wrong
You can do anything
Ban all the favorite folk songs
and crown yourself a King.

When insane outnumbers sane
Your power will be complete
You can cause death and pain
Good folks will gasp in defeat

The time is past to change things
You wasted critical days
being stupidly silent
now even you are crazed

It does not feel like a world of right or wrong anymore.
It feels like SANE or INSANE.

Perhaps it has always been the case but its more obvious to me now.
I have always supported helping people regain their sanity...
But where and how do we profit to help Trump to regain a sanity he has never had? Sometimes there is no cure. I only know that truth and its delivery system humor, is an effective vaccine to stem the infection of insanity.

It is my belief more insanity is learned than are born with it.
Insanity itself is a pandemic. I repeat
Insanity itself has its own pandemic today.
Socially distancing ourselves from insanity has always been done.
When the insane gather on social media, infection spreads uncontrolably. Its spreads even faster when the incompetant are paid money or salaries to repeat and support insanity.

We'll see. But democracy would have been at even greater risk if Trump had won a second term. I can't see Biden governing by tweets he makes up to contradict the truth.

Heil to the good ol boys
heart of the master race.
With Trump on our side    - Oy!
our blood can't be defaced

by blacks or spics or Jews.
We'll even kill the Irish
You're next, to name a few
We'll help you all to perish

by our militia's best.
It seems that some of our own
can't pass the purity test - Oops
there goes the last good ol boy

At first I was afraid, I was petrified
Kept thinking I could never live without nazis on my side
But then I spent so many nights thinking how Dems did me wrong
And I grew strong
And I learned how to get along
And so they're back
From outer space
I just walked in to find them with that smile upon their face
I should have changed the secret service, I should have hidden white house keys
If I'd known for just one second they'd be back to bother me
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome anywhere
Weren't you the one who tried to impeach me with your lies?
You think I'd crumble?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to fire, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all the fascist base and I know that Fox will survive
I will survive, hey, hey
It took all the strength I had not to fall apart
Kept trying hard to sue in court to mend my broken heart
And I spent oh-so many nights just feeling sorry for myself
I used to tweet
But now I tweet full time and I'm golfing
Some place new
I'm not that chained-up giant person born to just hate you
And so you felt like dropping in and just expect me to be free
Well, now I'm planning a long term coup for 2024
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not welcome at my door
Weren't you the one who tried to break me with your lies?
You think I'd crumble?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will survive
Oh, as long as I know how to golf, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got Putin on my side and I know I will survive
I will survive
Oh
Go on now, go, walk out the door
Just turn around now
'Cause you're not for Covid anymore
Weren't you the one who tried to hoax the news and tell all those lies?
You think I'd grow stale?
You think I'd lay down and die?
Oh no, not I, I will prevail
Oh, as long as I know how to fix elections, I know I'll stay alive
I've got all my life to live
And I've got all my hate to give and I'll survive
I will survive
to tell my lies

Turn around, close those little piggy eyes
Don't tell us more of your beautiful, big lies
You couldn't make this country great, you know
So close the door lightly when you go

You can't concede that you lost somehow
But you can't stay in the White House now
Winner takes all in this game, you know
So close the door lightly when you go

Running Round the White House when He Runs

According to the failing New York Times
The FBI investigated ME for crimes!
There was no proof against me, no proof if you please
So I fired Lyin' James Comey - he’s a sleaze

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

And Wray won't bend the truth – it’s such a shame
I've got a pink slip here that bears his name
He testified against me, against ME the President
I'll break the FBI as punishment

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

Bill Barr is running his investigation down
He's found nothing wrong, but he’s a clown
If he won’t do any more, then I’ll declare Martial Law
And a re-vote or a shooting Civil War

Make America great again
Make America great again
In the Beast out on the highway, I’m going to do it my way
And make America great again

His daughter, Ivanka
She ordered a tanker

In less than a minute
He took a bath in it,
Saying, It only slurs....my....speech!

Video starts with a lonely electric Texas guitar and helicopter sounds...
Spoken: Put your hands in sight and get out of the car.
Half Sung: put your hands in sight
You can't win this fight
Get out of the car,
You're leaving all right
Now Get Out Of The Car

Trump: Looks like the Army
and its just for us

Mitch: Lets not get caught

Trump: Whaduya mean?

Mitch: Lets not get caught,
Lets Keep going...

Trump: You mean go straight?
I don't know how
I don't even drive

Mitch: lets keep goin

* steps on the pedal, the tires spin and they go over the cliff into the Potomac far below.

Let me know if you find this offensive

One Sunday Morning (Based on traditional (offensive) Irish Song).

One Sunday morning, while the rally massed,
a Proud Boy tried to block me and I killed him for his past.
Yes I killed him for his past, me boys, and sent his soul to hell,
and when he got back he had a strange tale to tell.

When the Proud Boy dies his toes turn cold.
His bones begin to rattle and the devil takes his soul.
The gates of hell fly open and the devil cries for joy:
“I’ve a nice spot to fetch for you, me bold Proud Boy.

?If I had a yard of a Proud Boy’s skin
sure I’d make it into drums for me bold Biden Men.
When the drums begin to rattle and the fifes begin to play
sure we’ll march to the White House on Inauguration Day.

Anything that happens in life
Can happen in DC
You can make 'em mad
You can make 'em cry
Anything and everything goes

Thats Entertainment.
(Chorus)
[SCHUMER]
The clown
With his tweets falling down
Or the case
at the arraignment
Or the man
That the country can't stand
That's entertainment!

[PELOSI]
The lights
On first ladies in tights

[BIDEN]
Or the bride
With a gal on the side

[SCHUMER]
Or the ball
Where she, infects them all

[BIDEN, SCHUMER, AND PELOSI]
That's entertainment!

[PELOSI]
The plot
Could be hot
Simply teeming with porn

[SCHUMER]
A gay
Senator
Who is after his ex

[BIDEN]
It could be Oedipus Rex

[SCHUMER]
Where a teen kills off the Congress
And gun nuts have really wronged us.

[NANCY]
The jerk
Who is thrown out of work

[JOE]
By the boss
Who is thrown for a loss

[CHUCK]
By the flirt
Who is doing him dirt

[ALL]
The world is a stage
The stage is DC
Its entertainment!

(instrumental break)

[ALL]
The doubt
While the jury is out
Or the drill
When the judge has his fill
Or the case
For the man in disgrace
That's entertainment!

[NANCY]
The dame
Who is known as the flame

[CHUCK]
Of the king
Of an underworld ring

[CHUCK AND JOE]
He's an ape
Who won't let her escape

[ALL]
That's entertainment!
It might
Be a fight
Like you see on the screen
A gang
Getting banged
For the love of some cash
and a huge party bash
At a spot that is sweet
Where everyone ends in mincemeat.

The gag
Where he's waving the flag
That began
With a crooked con man
Hip hip hooray
The American way!
The world is a stage
The stage in DC
Is entertainment!

TIME TO GO   Paul Clarke  2020

It’s time to go, to stop the tantrums and the lies.
Too long you’ve trumpeted your bleatings to the skies
with your usual sound and fury (no change there) and so
let’s get this done and make the break more civilized.
A thousandfold I’ve heard you recount your complaints.
Seems our attempts to build consensus w’all in vain.
Stubborn losers taint whatever they come up against;
not even bleach removes the stains.

It’s time to go, though you won’t acknowledge that you’re beaten,
when it’s YOU who keeps accusing ME of cheating.
Crying foul won’t change a tittle:  you’ll still only
quit the field of battle    in full retweet.
No, it’s your throwaway misogyny that stabs
me deepest.  Let me tell you, friendly neighbourhood fabulist,
that this ’ere pussycat’s not up for grabs
and I, for one, won’t mourn your absence

when you go.  However was such trumpery called smart?
Jeez, I suppose I should have sensed it from the start
that boorish overstaying your welcome, like a fart.
It’s time to go, to gimme the chance to ventilate the rooms,
to change the locks, to get my life back, thanks, while you
make-believe that YOU still run the show.

It’s time to go, it’s time to face the cruel morning,
with its wake-up-and-smell-the coffee final warning.
This skiv-fefe-vy’s* in the kitchen making toast
and setting off the smoke-alarm:  well, is it dawning
that it’s the toast, amigo, I’m sure you’ll be tomorrow?
It’s the toast – Amen! – I’ll propose, with little sorrow,
to the news that’s not as fake as the last four years’
worth, since we bid you bonjour?  Now

it’s time to forgo those trumped-up charges in the courts,
demanding more than your fair share from this divorce,
by the rules of Eeny, misdemeanour, Miny, Mo.
Quoth the ravin’ mad pretender:  “Evermore”.
Scant, faded hopes you’d be departing in good grace
once some ordinary Joe was in your place.
I get that failure’s not a flavour to your taste,
but don’t forget to take both your faces

when you go.  I need proper closure, I need rest
from one so overweening, crude and self-obsessed.
If it’s all for show, just change your diapers and get dressed:
it’s time to go.  For all your narrow, racist, thin-skinned vanity,
Reality TV won’t trump reality –
that’s why you’ve had the old heave-ho –

it’s time to go.  The party’s over, the music’s stopped,
the guests long gone, the booze run out, the balloons all popped.
So bad, so bad, the shock that yesterday the host
had been rejected.  Hasn’t yet the penny dropped
if I stir the cocoa**-mugs so loud the spoons get bent?
Still can’t decide if you’re obtuse or merely dense.
To your question “Have I won the day?”, the answer,
Mr FORMER President, this time, is “No”.

Note: this isn't a parody, in that it has an [I hope] original tune
* a US friend reports that "skivvies" mean men's underwear, rather than lowly kitchen maid, though I think that applies only in the plural, where this is singular. "While this drudge…" might replace that line
** same person pointed out that Americans serve coffee to end a party. That actually wasn't the point, but maybe Americans don't habitually take cocoa before bed. It's supposed to be a blatant hint to a "sticky" guest. Is hot chocolate a more 'American' nightcap? Anyway, Mudcat is a bit more internationalist than that, so I leave it as it is, since it's hardly worth striving for an alternative.

"After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote."

Viewed from Trumpland, Dubya looks quite an agreeable sort. Hell - Nixon starts looking cuddly.

The really scary thing to contemplate is that evidently most of the millions who voted for Trump weren't even doing it while holding their noses, they actually like and admire the man. And that is pretty sick.

As for "After all, the world will be a happier and safer place when Trump accepts that he lost both the electoral college and the popular vote," I hope we won't have to wait for that to happen, because I doubt very much if it ever will. He'll be screaming "I was robbed" for the next four years, and on into the next election and those voters will be screaming along with him, most likelly.

Rainy Night In Georgia

How many times I wondered
It still comes out the same
No matter how you look at it or think of it
It's life and you just got to play the game

But it's a rainy night in Georgia
Baby, it's a rainy night in Georgia
Lord, I believe it's rainin' all over the world
Kinda lonely now and it's rainin' all over the world

Anusface,
We're going to vote and put you in your place
And do we really need to make the case
That your face
Looks just like an anus
And your behavior's heinous.
Anusface,
You can't divide us by religion or by race
And when the votes are cast
We're going to see the last
Of your ugly anusface.

BEHIND BLUE EYES
No one knows what it's like
To be the bad man
To be the mad man
Behind trump eyes
And no one knows what it's like
To be hated
To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my golf course seems to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what its like
To feel these feelings
Like I do
And I blame you !!!
No one bites back as hard
On their anger
None of my pain and woe
Can show through
But my dreams they aren't as empty
As my hotels seem to be
I have hours, only lonely
My love is vengeance
That's never free
No one knows what its like
To be mistreated, to be defeated
Behind blue eyes
And no…

There isn't much new on youtube yet, from what I can see.

Those Gallant Red Hats (G)

Tune = After the Ball was Over

After the votes were counted, after the deed had been done,
Many a heart had been broken, vic-try had still not been won.
“Hold on,” our bold leader urged us, “just bully those weak bureaucrats,
Never give in for an instance, keep wearing those gallant red hats.

Pennsylvania, Nevada, Wisconsin, all can be turned if we press,
Law suits, and recounts, and lying, cheating, subversion and stress.
Keep up the pressure on Georgia, push on ‘til others fall flat,
All of the nation will know you, in your gallant red hat.”

After the mob has all gone home, after the smoke fin-ly clears,
Gone is the strength of our people, gone are the brave volunteers.
Gone is the voice of our leader, purged from its old habitat,
All I have left of this glory, is my gallant red hat.

Elly Wininger is organizing this fundraiser.

"Help Me Get This Song Recorded
    $246 raised of $2,275 goal

I wrote the song in this video in response to the events of Jan. 6, 2021. I would like to record it with a full band. I feel it's important to get the song out to as many people as possible right away as the issues it brings up are currently needing our attention. I also feel it is important to pay the musicians! I would use first class locally based Woodstock NY "Wrecking Crew" musicians, as well as a local studio/engineer since they (and myself) have been so negatively impacted by the loss of livelihood due to the pandemic.

There is more text on the page.

This one never get old, unfortunately:

Chanted Sermon by Rev. Rubin Lacy
Bakersfield, California - 1967
Adapted by Dahlov Ipcar © 1974
Further adapted by Charlie Ipcar, 1993

The Four Horsemen

They tell me in the morning,
When the horses come out the door,
They'll be standing there a-waiting,
To see the generals they been fighting for.

First come a rider on a red horse,
His armor shining in the sun,
A flaming sword in his hand,
His helmet a Gatling-gun –
The face of War.

Under his horse's hoofs,
The dead and dying,
Trampled in the sand,
Bodies torn by grenades,
Shattered by shrapnel,
Rot in no man’s land –
But with visions of victory in their eyes.

Refrain:

And I hear a voice a-crying,
“Is that the general we been fighting for?”
And I hear a voice answer,
“Yes, that's the general you been fighting for.”

Next come a rider on a black horse,
His body all covered with sores,
Reeking of gangrene,
From his nose and ears blood pours –
The face of Pestilence.

Under his horse's hoofs,
The sick and the dying,
People too weak to crawl,
Bodies wracked with pain,
Vomiting black blood,
For mercy they do call –
The madness of fever in their eyes.

Refrain:

Then, out come a rider on a white horse,
His body all covered with flies,
Thin and gaunt and haggard,
Rotting teeth and bloodshot eyes –
The face of Famine.

Under his horse's hoofs,
Children with swollen bellies,
Pipestem arms and legs;
Across the blackened fields,
Mothers with outstretched hands,
For bread and water beg –
The madness of starvation in their eyes.

Refrain:

At last, come a rider on a pale horse,
His body but a rack of bone,
Slashing a scythe left and right,
Eyes like balls of fire in a head of stone –
The face of Death.

And under his horse's hoofs,
Desolation and destruction,
On the face of the earth;
Gravestones and dry bones crackling,
Black ashes swept up in the wind,
None left to mourn or curse –
The madness of another great victory.

Refrain:

And I hear a voice a-crying,
“Is that the general we been fighting for?”
And I hear another voice answer,
“Yes, that's the general you been fighting for.”

“Oh, Lord, let me go!
I can't make war no more;
Oh, Lord, let me go home in peace!
I seen the generals we been fighting for.”

King of the Hype
Tune = King of the Road

New York City, borough of Queens, upwardly successful by all means,
European women & bankruptcies…income tax deficiencies.
Rode “The Apprentice” when he could, all the way just like we knew he would,
A busy man with game plan…King of the Hype.

Little buddy Kim Jong-un, North Korean honeymoon,
Used to call him “Rocket Man”…until he cut and ran,
Tried Ukrainian “Quid pro Quo,” impeachment followed apropos,
A wily con, he hung on…King of the Hype.

With Corona Virus, he would fail big,
Tried to deny it, tried to renege,
Election breached, twice impeached he never concedes, he gives

Pardons to those who pay, get ‘em quick before he goes away,
Five years of pushing lies…still briefed by Putin’s spies.
He likes insurrections & QAnon, golden showers kinda turn him on,
A lousy friend with no friends…King of the Hype.

I kinda like the first post here by Og
I don't like the critic from the 'Observer'.

To be the bad man
To be the mad man
Behind trump eyes
And no one knows what it's like

To be fated to telling only lies
But my dreams they aren't as empty

No one bites back as hard
On their anger
So my pain and woe
Can't show through

This is an idea in progress and I am happy for more accomplished lyricists to use it as an inspirational parody.

I haven't tried to match up the tune variations/break to the lyrics so feel free to experiment with it, if you like the idea.

To the tune of The Toreador Song from Bizet's opera Carmen:

The Sociopath Song

Sociopath, narcissist,
dictator, and a racist.
When an insurrection he incites,
he does not take the blame.

Instead he parties with his friends
and family
a-a-a-all night.

Mary Trump has his number,
she knows very well
all the things he can do,
but he just calls it fake news,
Fa-ake news!

He says he'll be back
with his Proud Boys.
They stand back and stand by
watched by the FBI.
