I remember the tape, you’re right about it being the Albert dock, my late mum bought it from there in the 80’s. I loved that tape, but have never managed to find it since.

A picture of the 45 rpm vinyl A-side appears on the upper-left hand corner of the screen that comes up for me.

The names on the sleeve are (capitals as on the original) 'DEL AHANTI and CRAIG'.

I think beyond doubt it is a small-scale local release, sold by the performers while on their pitch at the Dock. Who Bernie Shorr, the copyright holder, is I also have no idea.

I'll have a look at discogs.

On reflection, more likely perhaps to be mid to late '80s

Are you sure the first name isn't Delahunty? That's a County Clare surname derived from Ó Dulchaointeach.

I've never heard of them, so I'm no help there, but in my opinion, the best way to find more about this is to post the album on discogs.com.

If you need any help, you can send the pictures to me and I can create the listing for you.

What that does is it creates a page for the artists which other people can contribute to, and if someone else has the album or knows the artists they can create a page for it to. Think of it as a sort of Wikipedia for albums.

Sounds like it was probably a self-produced album from a local group. I wouldn't be surprised if they wrote the songs -- it allows them to not have to pay other songwriters for royalties.

Dear Forum

A curious request here: following the death of my father, I've found among his effects this recording on cassette. Two young chaps are depicted on the sleeve - one with some kind of banjo, the other a guitar. The location seems to be Liverpool's Albert Dock (distinctive chimney of the Pump House); and I suspect that the tape was bought there in the earlyish '80s.
The tape reference number is RTS 1441 and the rest of the text on the sleeve is

None of the songs is credited to anyone - and I've not found them anywhere else, which makes me wonder whether the two performers wrote them.

Playing it again after all these years has left me feeling rather nostalgic - my father having been an old sea-dog and a Liverpudlian.

Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone has heard of these chaps, as there seems nothing on the net about either the performers of the songs.
