Subject: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Mr Red Date: 06 Jan 21 - 07:44 AM COVID boredom index reaching 9.8? Are you analysing the books that Zoom interviwewees select to put behind them. Like the latest tome they have authored, or ones that make them look anomalously erudite? Well how about inventing a few for the humour? I will start the wheeze by suggesting: The Elephant in the Zoom. (By Master Don) |

Subject: RE: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Jeri Date: 06 Jan 21 - 09:21 AM There was an interviewee on last night who had a giant blue pineapple on his bookshelves. He had a Delaware banner, and Oh hell - he made it to Room Rater. |
Subject: RE: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Stilly River Sage Date: 06 Jan 21 - 10:22 AM If you want a hilarious running commentary on the rooms then follow Leslie Jones on Instagram. She's the very tall black comedian on Saturday Night Live who you've seen in movies like the new Ghost Busters (not so new now, but that's the last film I saw her in.) She videos the TV news while she talks back to it or discusses the rooms, etc. I do find myself trying to identify the background books and other objects in the various interviews on MSNBC and PBS News Hour. There are a few people who need to move objects behind them because it looks like they have something sprouting from their heads. Someone should point that out before they go on the air—staging is everything these days. I love seeing a dog or cat stroll through the room behind them. Steve Schmidt of the Lincoln Project has some gorgeous large Pacific NW coast Indian art wood carvings on the wall that I'd love to get a closer look at. James Carville's New Orleans home has a high-ceilinged kitchen with the most attractive old bead board that I'd also like a better look at. |
Subject: RE: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Jeri Date: 06 Jan 21 - 10:24 AM The last update I see says Room Rater Pineapple Update.:" @davidplouffe added a US Constitution and a Delaware State pennant. 10/10" There was also a USPS truck. I always try to read the book titles, and I usually can't. Too teeny. I swear last night, there was something sillier than the pineapple, but can't remember what it was. |
Subject: RE: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Jeri Date: 06 Jan 21 - 10:31 AM Room Rater on Twitter "The original Room Raters. Rating bookcases, backsplashes and hostage videos since April, 2020. Tweets by Jessie & Claude." I don't know if you can view it if you're not on Twitter. Oh year - the other silly thing was Baby Yoda. |
Subject: RE: BS: Backdrop Bookshelf Books for Zoom Game From: Nigel Parsons Date: 06 Jan 21 - 02:55 PM I have noticed, on several occasions, a collection of the Harry Potter books. Unless you went for the anonymised 'covers for adults' the spines, as a series, are quite distinctive. That is not just for the colour-blocks on the spines, but also the increase in thickness of the books as the series progresses. |
