Shonaleigh Cumbers tells the stories she was told by her Bubba, who was part of the drutsyla tradition (women who passed the stories down, grandmother to granddaughter). There are cycles of stories, each named after a rabbi, and within those stories there are many, many more. She is an inspiration and she and her husband Simon Heywood are trying to record her telling the stories, as they don't exist in print. She's done some on-line sessions, and there's more information on her website. Can't remember the URL at the moment but if you google her name you should find it.
There's also a collection of tales under the title "Miriam's Tambourine" - and again my memory lets me down for details like the author.

My exposure to Jewish storytelling is limited to Isaac Bashevis Singer and the Tevye stories of Sholem Aleichem, but they've left me hungry for more. I'm especially interested in ancient stories of the rabbis, but I'd like to develop an overall exposure to Jewish literature.
Any good collections that anyone can recommend?

Chabad.org has a wonderful page called "Jewish Stories," and it's packed with stories.

An interesting page titled "Jewish Fables and Tales" at http://shtetlroutes.eu/en/jewish-fables-and-tales/#jewish-fables-and-tales-in-literature-and-film

And a study of three rabbinic tales: https://booksnthoughts.com/a-startling-reevaluation-of-three-rabbinical-tales/

Any suggestions?
