McCahir Og
Glenmalure
Feach McHugh O'Byrne
Kildare
Carlow [*shrug* might as well check...]
Glen Imaal
Tassagart
Clonmore
Rory Og O'More

thanks in advance...

Irish names & places are about the only thing I CAN pronounce! Here we go:

McCahir Og (m'care ohg) BTW "Og" means young, but you probably knew that already...
Glenmalure (glen-ma-loor)
Feach McHugh O'Byrne (fawch m'cue o burn) note that ch's are pronounced like the ch's in challah and Channukah.
Kildare (Killdare) evidement...
Carlow (Carlo)
Glen Imaal (glenimahl) I'm not very sure about this one...
Tassagart (TASSAgart)
Clonmore (clahn moor)
Rory Og O'More (rury ohg o moor)

Overall not that very hard, and I'm sure you had a really good idea about how to pronounce them in the first place...now if Aine comes in here, she might prove the pronunciations wrong, but they'd be darn close. If it's enough for the crowd to understand, it's good enough!:{>

G'day Emily,
Here are some links to 4 different recordings in MP3 format (all legal). At least they show how other people pronounce the names.

Em, I have a CD Rom program on learning Irish and a whole bunch of books and tapes on Scots Gaelic. Let's look at stuff the next time you're over.
