I was watching the 422nd Quidich final at the beginning of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and was shocked to see the resemblance to the attack on the Capitol Building Jan.6th by 'death eaters' wearing KKK hats. The difference was that the mob did not carry lit torches.

Far more evidence of the conspiracy by dark forces has come from police body cams and the investigation into those who allowed special groups/agents to tour the capitol bulding on January 5th.

Recently a bomb threat has emerged from the right regarding the capitol building upon Biden's state of the union address. If nothing else happens it will probably be the most watched State of the Union address in history.

On the optimistic side, we have the following:

When the Capitol Police finally decided the threat was deadly, they killed a rioter, and the crowd lost its enthusiasm. The crowd learned a serious lesson there.

After the riot, the FBI received 200,000 tips from the public. A lot of people in this country have probably realized that there are a lot of ex-spouses, hostile co-workers, former friends and abused sons & daughters out there, ready to do it again.

Trump failed to arrange for any Port-a-potties on Jan 6th, and there won't be any next time, either.

There is blowback and agreement what happned was heinous.
Still the Murrow building explosion was a right wing response to WACO.
I believe the Kennedy assasination was a response to civil rights changes by the right. Racist passions run deep by a few.
A few too many.

I would have a different take on the one fatal shooting inside the capitol having an effect on the mob. There is no way that information could be disseminated throughout the mob any more than the one woman who died by trampling outside the capitol. The disinformation campaign is in full swing on the right still claiming it was mostly Antifa respondsible for violence.
The FBI of today is heroic while in the days of J Edgar Hoover they were scoundrels.

My remarks above seem facetious, but I was thinking of the average joes who went to the Capitol with no real plan, mostly because Trump told them to. There were about 8000 people there but only 800 got inside the Capitol.

The Feb. 12th issue of The Week quotes NBC News:

"Nearly 140 officers were injured the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol, according to the Capitol Police union. Officers suffered brain injuries, smashed spinal disks and cracked ribs, and one is likely to lose his eye. Two officers have committed suicide."

It is important to distinguish between the misguided and the fanatical.

The misguided can be guided right into war. I will not again fall for the fear that was generated by 9-11. I will not forget how I swallowed 'they hate our freedom crap' for nearly a month. If one in three Amricans want a racist America let them suffer the consequnces of their minority but not our vengence.

The director of the FBI appeared before Congress today and defended the FBI by saying we told all the appropriate police agenicies in person and by email. He also said we are equal opportunity law enforcment and do not have a partisan bias. HOWEVER no arrests were made by the FBI on Jan. 6th at the Capitol.
At BLM rallies arrests were made the day of protests all the time.
Christopher Ray did not say "we knew it was just going to be white people at the capitol". Republican questions were all about antifa and democrats asked about white supremist violence.

I would coin a term of 'White Surprise' a reaction over any connection between politics and racism. "Who, what, I didn't do anything, I can't be a racist, I'm white so what."

Right wing sources claim another attack on the Caapitol attack on the 4th
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/capitol-police-increase-security-march-4-qanon-conspiracy-theory/

This has the possibility of being a diversion. A diversion of what?
It could be the White House or the coming SOTUA. I think of my neighbor who was a welder steam fitter who did jobs for the WH. Inside info can come from unlikely sources.

As expected the Trump new Pentagon appointees have their finger prints on the order to stand down the deployment of the Nstional Guar for 3 hours after the Capitol Police made desprate pleas for help.

Today the House half of Congress will not convene over more right wing threats but the Senate will be in session. The Senate is open to delay all work for 10 hours by a Republican tactic.
Does Parliment get shut down over threats?

There is something so deliciously appropriate in the quadrupling of rates at the trump hotel in Washington for the occasion of March 4th - trump's ongoing unabashed, shameless exploitation of his deluded acolytes ... laugh or cry?

Last night I got to thinking. If there were 8000 at the Capitol and the FBI received 200,000 tips, that comes to 25 tips per person. Most of those 8000 people did nothing really bad, and it's hard to picture an outraged populace turning them in for standing on the Capitol grounds and
uttering chants.

I've seen an estimate that there were 8000 people there but only 800 entered the Capitol, and it seems likely that these 800 were the focus of most tips. That sure is a lot of tips. (250 per person) How many bitter exes, hostile co-workers and abused children can those 800 have?

I admit that Putin is daamn cleavor if he is using fascism to poison the West

Putin probably realised when Obama was elected that social media was the modern route to mobilising people. And he did the deed with (ex) Twitler.

Putin needs every other country to have internal squabbles, it distracts them from what he is doing. In every country including his own. It weakens ties between countries. Brexshit being the obvious one.

In that respect China's policy of screwing down the internet and controlling the media generally is protection against internal and external influences. Putin's influence must be high on that list.

Much like Twitler's tactic of creating issues after mendacious issue, Putin is doing the same, covertly.

After Brexshit, I warned this parish "Be afraid America, be very afraid". What I didn't connect was Putin's hand in Twitler's plans (or the Farrage Balloon).

To measure is to know - James Clark Maxwell. And we don't really have the measure of Putin. He is not in charge of Proud White Boys or Q Anon, he doesn't need to be. But he rattles their cages.
