Subject: Tell me why is... From: GUEST,redwoodkardon Date: 11 Mar 21 - 04:52 PM I'm trying to find a song I remember from many years ago that had the them of a child asking a parent(most likely a dad) a series of "why is" questions. The version I remember was sung by a woman. |
Subject: RE: Tell me why daddy From: GUEST,# Date: 11 Mar 21 - 06:54 PM The search parameters are too open. When did you hear it (approximate year)? UK? US? Type of music--just to narrow things down a bit. That kinda thing would be helpful. |

Subject: RE: lyr req: Tell me why daddy From: Joe Offer Date: 11 Mar 21 - 10:18 PM Hmm. Interesting question. You didn't give us quite enough information to allow us to find the exact song, but it does open the door to lots of interesting songs. The one I thought of was Woody Guthrie's Why, Oh Why. -Joe- |
Subject: RE: lyr req: Tell me why daddy From: BrooklynJay Date: 13 Mar 21 - 12:53 AM It might be Little Child, also known as Daddy Dear. It's been recorded by Danny Kaye and others. I believe there was a thread or two on Mudcat about this song. Jay |
