Subject: RE: Not 2021 NFF Sunday Hymm Singing From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 10 Apr 21 - 03:22 AM as one of our performers said late last year, singing without words is HUMMING & I've heard hummmms issuing out of masks in the past months. Tho as Australia has opened up in recent weeks, on the weekend we heard words & harmonies coming out of unmasked mouths. And we hugged each other, but we were a very tight group. But to introduce a more serious note, liberty can become licence & some folks are not taking notice of the few restrictions left. And of course some folks have never taken covid & restrictions seriously ... sandra |
Subject: RE: Not 2021 NFF Sunday Hymm Singing From: Joe Offer Date: 10 Apr 21 - 02:06 AM I kinda sneaked. I hummed behind my mask. We have a couple of songs with killer bass parts, and I just couldn't resist. -Joe- |

Subject: RE: Not 2021 NFF Sunday Hymm Singing From: JennieG Date: 10 Apr 21 - 12:17 AM So am I - Himself and I went to Queanbeyan on Saturday night to have dinner with friends, we could have hymned the place had we but known! You wouldn't want to be in Canberra today, the wind is blowing straight up from Antarctica. It is freakin' freezing. |
Subject: RE: Not 2021 NFF Sunday Hymm Singing From: Hrothgar Date: 09 Apr 21 - 08:36 PM Missed it badly. We were in Canberra for the weekend and went to the Good Folk sessions and concerts, but the only singing I got to do was at the shanty session. In hindsight, I am kicking myself - I bet the organisers would have put it in the programme if I had asked nicely. Sorry we missed you in Canberra, Jen. |
Subject: RE: Not 2021 NFF Sunday Hymm Singing From: Sandra in Sydney Date: 06 Apr 21 - 04:27 AM & I was at a singing weekend in Bundanoon, not far from Canberra, & totally forgot! Regulars ChrisM, Prue & Roy were there & probably forgot as well. There were about 35 of us, most camping, a few of us in the hotel, lotsa' folk I've not seen for over a year, some I hadn't seen for longer. And a baby who is now two and a quarter who I hadn't seen since aug19. And far too much food, supposedly a few bringing enough for 10, but when lotsa' people bring enough for 10 ... The weekend started with 2 days of workshops for the choir who organised it, then the rest of us joined them for 2 days with a couple of concerts & lots of sessions, including one around the fire on Monday night! We had our own session/festival & will be meeting up again in Sept for a 2 day weekend - yah! sandra |
