can anyone help me find origin of this picture. google leads to an old for wellington boots. do we know if this picture is in public domain? seems to be from yarmouth. picture in question is the one of the ladies lined up stepping out on the street

darn. it went to the same place. i will have to keep trying. but if you happen to google and see a line of ladies strolling down the street looking happy it could be the right one. yarmouth 1936.

Here is a Google image search for duplicates of that image. It has appeared online in various venues.

From there, This site lists license information, but keep in mind, with older photos, there may be more than one place that claims it, or there may be variants around that don't have the same costs or usage rights attached.

I was going to suggest checking the photo collection at the Library of Congress, but it might well be under British copyright.

thanks all. i won't be using this after all because someone on the cd sent an equally great picture of his grannies doing this work. it will add a lot of specialness to the cd. expecting a new song from newfoundland in soon..maybe even today.
