Subject: RE: Hear a beautiful piece of music From: leeneia Date: 21 Apr 21 - 12:45 AM You're welcome. I'm glad you like it. For me that sweet little dissonance is the sound of taking a ride in the country. The woman playing is Mimi Blais (pronounced Blay) from Montreal, one of the world's best players of ragtime. She also plays other styles. |
Subject: RE: Hear a beautiful piece of music From: GUEST,cnd Date: 21 Apr 21 - 01:01 AM I had meant to ask, this piece is a bit slower than typical ragtime. Is it more of a strut/cakewalk or is it still ragtime? I believe I've read in the past that Joplin had complaints about most people playing or wanting to play ragtime too fast (probably even more so these days) but I'm not sure where the classifications go |
