Subject: A Conclusion From: Uncle Milty Date: 12 Jan 00 - 12:22 AM For me, this place is the Folk equivalent of a combination of all the following elements....based on simultaneous viewing : An hour of:
Regis & Kathy Lee (......it IS a compliment.......)

Subject: RE: BS: A Conclusion From: ddw Date: 12 Jan 00 - 12:36 AM Gawd, Uncle Milty! I had hoped we were at least a little above that! Of course we could start a thread on what a bummer it is when your 13-year-old grandson steals your girlfriend and see where that'll take us. ;-) David |

Subject: RE: BS: A Conclusion From: Barry Finn Date: 12 Jan 00 - 12:41 AM Hi Milty, you've been gone for so long, missed that late night humor you were always known for. At this time & hour it's at least far better than watching them & it is folk, or is it? OH NO, not again. Barry |

Subject: RE: BS: A Conclusion From: Marymac90 Date: 12 Jan 00 - 12:59 AM I dunno..... I think it's maybe like a combination of reading Sing Out, Funny Times, a folksong society newsletter, a church bulletin, with notices of sick and shut-ins, deaths, etc; writing letters to the editor and Dear Abby that always get printed, and getting answers immediatly; listening to your favorite stand-up comic's newest routine; getting together with your favorite musicians, and the world's best audience, for an open circle in the friendliest bar in the world; answering a survey in a magazine, and seeing results immediatly; getting your librarian to look up stuff for you; getting tech support from the warmest, kindest techies you've ever heard of; and listening to your favorite and most informative folk radio show, only it's playing all requests, and it's on all the time; all rolled into one!!! Subject: RE: BS: A Conclusion From: Little Neophyte Date: 12 Jan 00 - 07:41 AM Hi Uncle Milty, I don't think we have met yet. Very glad to meet you. I can appreciate your description of Mudcat. Mary summed up this place quite nicely too. Sometimes people seem to be upset about how much things have changed around here. I think your postings are a comforting reminder how truly wonderful this place really is. I have another relative here; Uncle Charles Seed. Now that I am a young lady, Mother thought it was wise if I stopped sitting on his lap. BB |

Subject: RE: BS: A Conclusion From: Caitrin Date: 13 Jan 00 - 12:26 AM Pleased to meet you, Uncle Milty. I think there also tends to be a dose of The Simpsons every now and then, and a little of NPR's Morning Edition or All Things Considered, too. |
