Folk at the Folk 24th July 2021

Dear Friends:

As you may know, the Folk Museum of Gloucester has been taken over from the Council by a small group of volunteers. In order to make the finances work, we have turned it into a community centre and events venue as well as maintaining it as a Museum.   We have “rebranded” it as “The Folk of Gloucester” to reflect this change.

The first major event that we have planned is a folk festival on the 24th July.   More than 20 acts have generously donated their time and talents in order to put this together. We have 12 hours of entertainment ready for you.   There is real ale, cider and a hog roast. I think that we can offer you a really good time.   Lord knows, we could all do with one!

It’s free to get in.   But please do donate what you can.   To keep this show on the road, we will need to raise a lot of money each year.

We also need volunteers to help run the complex and to join our resident group of singers, musicians and actors: the Jovial Crew.   If you would like to be part of this unique project, please let me know.
