I would like to thank those people ho have organised zoom singarounds during the lockdown.
one of the most enjoyable concerts i saw was, Nick Dow, in my opinion a fine singer of traditional songs and an excellent guitarist.

Pity Zoom hadn't been invented in the 60s.
We wouldn't have had to bother with Folk Clubs and seeing people for real.
Not seen Nick Dow on a screen but he is a good and committed performer.

I enjoy the Mudcat's own singaround every Monday afternoon. If you'd like to try it, look for the thread about it on a Monday morning.

Recently I was watching a choral concert on YouTube and fell asleep over the Benjamin Britten (no surprise there). I was disappointed, then realized that all I had to do was back up the red line and listen again.
That was a real pleasure.

Susan and I have been doing Zoom workshop style concerts once a month for the last eight or nine months. You can see us in our old Upper Peninsula house where a cat may Zoom bomb our performance (but mostly they sleep through it these days). We usually pick a theme of some sort, in October it's Samhain/Halloween songs, December it's winter solstice. This past March we did our first Transatlantic Zoom with Anne Lister with the theme Myth, Magic, and Fantasy. Like I said we basically trade songs as one would in a workshop at a festival. Before streaming the logistics of setting these up would be very impractical.
