Can any one give me the actual melody for this song? I would be grateful. Thanks.

...this is a great tune! I heard "Last Rights" from Ft. Lauderdale do it at the Florida Folk Festival last spring...the melody reminds me of something in the dim realms of my memory...a Kingston Trio tune of another name mayhaps?

Probably the same name - as many of the big folk groups of the 60's did a version of it. Great song. I like Joe & Eddie's version best.

Cheers, BK

You may be thinking of a public service commercial for the Boy Scouts that played on TV a couple of decades back. It used "Follow The Drinking Gourd" as the melody, with a chorus of "Follow the rugged road."

Intersting Jacob! RUS has the tune I see and if the chords don't sound just right I will copy the Last Rites version...
