I learned from a post by Ian Anderson that the death of Barthélemy Attiso of the wonderful Orchestré Baobab has been announced. He was one of my favourite guitarists and the majestic solo that he plays here shows his great skill and musicality. We were fortunate to see them three times on their British tours. Most of the musicians were only part-time and most had senior positions in Senegal including a one-time government minister and academics. Barthélemy himself was a lawyer.
