Bush got 1.5 trillion dollars for tax cuts on the wealthy.
Trump got 1.9 trillion tax cuts for the wealthy.
Biden wants 3.5 for the rest of us.
Biden also wants to tax the rich who are actually paying about 3.4 %.
The wealthy also send 14 trillion overseas to hide it from the IRS.
Its time that we at least even the score. When only the rich can afford to pay our representatives to run for office we end up where we currently are.

Perhaps we think this will not effect our life in the way Brexit doesn't effect America. As a recent spectator, I say it will.
When I was young the tax rate for the rich was 90%.

not sure I get this. If Republicans d not agree to honour trumps debts then the govern just doesn't pay them, then it will be up to trumps creditors to try and recover what they are owed from trump or the republican party.

15 million seniors could stop receiving Social Security payments, or see delays.
30 million families could stop receiving President Joe Biden's expanded Child Tax Credit payments, or see delays.
U.S. military servicemembers could stop receiving paychecks.
Veterans' benefits could stop or be delayed.
Postal workers and federal employees could stop receiving paychecks.
The United States' credit worthiness could be downgraded, spiking interest rates, which would raise mortgage, car and credit card payments.
Doubt in the typically reliable U.S. currency could tank the markets, hurting 401ks and other investments. (The S&P 500 lost 17% in the months surrounding the last debt ceiling standoff.)
FEMA funding for hurricane and wildfire victims could stop.
Public health funding for pandemic mitigation efforts could be cut off.
Child nutrition program and other food assistance could stop.
Every job that supports all those departments and programs wuold be gone.

But we still have two weeks of paychecks for sure.

People say this is the most important governing moment in our lifetime.
The strident staunch Republicans may be willing to play russian roulette with the nation and the world by filibustering the debt ceiling. On one hand, yeah it could be a another continuing resolution (kick the can) but on the other hand October 30th could be a black Thursday. That week will also determine if the Biden agenda will fail or succeed.

The minority in Congress can steal time and pay a game of delay or shut down. The US is facing another government shut down, it has lately been a waiting game of disaster to see how close to midnight a consensus is reached.
In two weeks the US government may shut down if repubs don't vote to pay the bills that Trump rang up (5 trillion). Its called passing the debt ceiling. It was created in 1917 to placate those opposed to WW1 involvement and the great expense war would cost.
What happens if the US Congress does not pass the debt ceiling in time?    There would be a 15 trillion dollar loss of wealth amoung our citizens by paying more interest and penalties on government borrowed $.   I 'tossed' off a little parody for just such a situation that is looming next Monday .
