A rìbhinn òig bheil cuimhn' agad
'S a ghruagach dhonn an cluinn thu mi?
A rìbhinn òig bheil cuimhn' agad
An oidhche mun do sheòl mi?

O 's e blàths na h-oidhche sin,
Cha tèid gu brath à cuimhne dhomh;
'S ann ort a bhios mi cuimhneachadh
Gach oidhche fhliuch is reòite.

Gur fada, fada thall tha mi
'S chan fhaigh mi null a shealltainn ort
'S ged dhìrinn bhàrr nan crann aice
Chan fhaic mi beanntan Leòdhais.

A ghruagach na biodh àmhghar ort
Oir 's cinnteach tha mo làmh-sa dhut;
'S tu, a ghràidh, as fheàrr leam
Na mo mhàthair dh' àraich òg mi.

Tha mi falbh Diciadain uat
'S chan fhaic thu airson bliadhna mi,
'S feuch nach dèan an cianalas
Do liathadh ged is òg thu.

Nuair bhios mi gun chompanach
'S a bhios an oidhche trom orm
Bidh gealach toir nam chuimhne
Liuthad oidhche bha sinn còmhla.

The spelling of the title at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1nD56rcC_HA

has the wrong spelling of "cuimhne" (cuimh', memory) with the "mh" omitted Admittedly I don't hear the "mh", a v sound, in this singer's pronunciaton. Pronunciation does vary a bit from place to place. You could translate the title as young lass, do you remember (an oidhche sin mus do sheol mi - that night before I sailed)

Donald McRae sings the same first verse cum chorus and then he sings a verse similar to the one at the end of the BBC transcription, "nuair bhios mi gun chompanach ..." The next verse is similar to "a ghruagach na biodh àmhghar ort" with the woman addressed as " a ribhinn" instead of "a ghruagach"; the words have similar meanings. And then the next verse is "Tha mi a' falbh DiCiadiain [bh]uat", I am leaving you Wednesday. So most of the verses are the same as published here, with some variation both in the order of the verses and in particular words.

Tha mi a' falbh Diciadain 'uat
'S chan fhaic thu airson bliadhna mi,
'S feuch nach dèan an cianalas
Do liathadh ged is òg thu.

I am leaving you Wednesday
I won't see you for a year
Try not to let the loneliness
Turn your head grey although you are young.

a small self-correction: "an oidhche mus do sheol mi " Donald McRae aka Dòmhnall MacRathdoes sing "mus" rather than "mun" but not "an oidhche sin", that night; he does sing "an oidhche", the night. I should have typed "An oidhche mus do sheol mi."

Runrig Fan is referring to my info. re Gaelic language study. These courses are designed for part-time study on your own ...that's probably not enough to achieve fluency but would help with deciphering lyrics of songs, even though songs and poetry can be complex and use old forms of language. Over time, you can learn a lot of language if you do a bit regularly, even 20 minutes every day. Duolingo is a good one for encouraging regular study. I think Duolingo is better used as an adjunct to other study than as a stand alone course.
