Subject: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Donuel Date: 23 Oct 21 - 10:55 AM There is no doubt that computers have changed our civilization. So have Big Pharma and chemists. What drugs could treat or cure our current social ills? I would welcome Oxytocin in water supplies so we could like each other or safe motivational drugs for burn out like Jusdoicin. How about a drug to make people more rational like Impruvabit, or occupation specific drugs for politicians like Politicin-that blocks the ability to lie? |

Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Rapparee Date: 23 Oct 21 - 03:46 PM Just be taken up by Twitter, et al. They're endemic now. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: keberoxu Date: 23 Oct 21 - 05:12 PM Do I hear an echo of Huey Lewis and the News? (poor mr. Lewis, his hearing is gone. Must see if there's an update on his condition.) |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: The Sandman Date: 23 Oct 21 - 06:15 PM Facebook is really about advertisin, however it is as good as the people who are on it, I use it to promote my festival However i cannot see how anyone can make an informed judgement on it if they do not use it. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Steve Shaw Date: 23 Oct 21 - 06:44 PM Bollocks, Dick. I have never been of Facebook but I can see all the harm it is doing with regard to vaccines, etc. I've generally found that the people who defend Facebook are the people who are addicted to it. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Bill D Date: 23 Oct 21 - 07:13 PM **IT** is not doing harm... the idiots are .. they would use email and Twitter and Snap hat...etc.. if FB were gone. I use FB, but I see very little real conspiracy crap because I only allow know friends who are pretty sane in. A 'few' their supposed friends are eye-rolling nut jobs, but not many. It has actually been a great help to me in many ways... and I am clever enuf to avoid the ads and nonsense. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Bill D Date: 23 Oct 21 - 07:15 PM I KNOW that Tr**p lies get spread there, but I see very little of them. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Steve Shaw Date: 23 Oct 21 - 07:45 PM I admire your advocacy, Bill, but the bald fact is that the platform you subscribe to is causing massive harm. Just because you've found a way of ringfencing your own activities there does not detract from the obstinate fact that you are propping it up. You really don't need to be doing it, do you? |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Donuel Date: 23 Oct 21 - 07:54 PM I have never used FB but judge the abusive damage it does by accounts from others. FB says it can not moderate the people but exacerbates the people problem with apps. I bet they could eliminate all content that called for the execution of Zuckerberg. A drug to overcome a FB addiction is Fukitall with Fintinall. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Joe Offer Date: 24 Oct 21 - 02:34 AM I don't know if I care much about the other stuff, but I sure wish I could find a way to keep my nasal passages clear so I could breathe. It's been a problem all my life. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: The Sandman Date: 24 Oct 21 - 03:59 AM facebok is like the internet a tool it depends how it is used. i use it to promote a music festival i might visit it once or twice a day, people i find aggravating, i block them or snooze them howwever one such personwho i know personally ,i have had to stop coming round my house because he talks such crap a bit like a bleating old goat. facebook you can switch off, but now i have had to block this guy from my house, what do you make of that,Steve |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Dave Hanson Date: 24 Oct 21 - 04:15 AM A common sense pill. Dave H |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Senoufou Date: 24 Oct 21 - 04:27 AM I use our local village Facebook and it's extremely useful. Information about road closures, activities at the Village Hall, escaped pigs/sheep/goats/hens (honestly!) and some local advertising (tradesmen, a cosmetic nail-painting lady etc). What's bad about any of that? |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: The Sandman Date: 24 Oct 21 - 04:38 AM i tell you what drug i would give to people who close windows on buses a cold shower to boost their immune system and then i would make sure they were publicly flogged, six of the best |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Steve Shaw Date: 24 Oct 21 - 04:54 AM I'm with you on that one, Joe. Same issue. I refuse to deal with any business or organisation that requires me to go to Facebook to access their services or information. It's simple: they don't have to do it. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Mrrzy Date: 24 Oct 21 - 08:54 AM AUM. It is from The Illuminatus! Trilogy, I think. It turns xenophobes into xenophiles. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 24 Oct 21 - 11:14 AM I like Facebook as a communications media and keep my postings strictly restricted. Yes, it delivers phoney information but so does the Mainsteam Media. I think most people are sensible enough to know the difference. It is abused but so are other tools. Either use it or don't - seemples. Don't tar all FB users with the same brush though. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Steve Shaw Date: 24 Oct 21 - 12:01 PM If you're in it you're a supporter, Dave. We all have to make a judgement as to how much Facebook's irresponsible behaviour and pursuit of profit over people's safety has caused harm. Too much by far for my liking. I'm not judging Facebook members for being members, just suggesting that there is something to reflect on. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Dave the Gnome Date: 24 Oct 21 - 12:12 PM Yea, I've reflected. There are so many things that we support that put profit over people that Faceache is very low on my list of worries. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Steve Shaw Date: 24 Oct 21 - 12:52 PM Agreed. We have to breathe the polluted air (as my dad used to say). But Facebook is over the line for me. |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: Mr Red Date: 25 Oct 21 - 10:12 AM or occupation specific drugs for politicians like Politicin-that blocks the ability to lie? We have sodium pentathol but what it needs is a gas that can be wafted through the legislative houses. I can suggest a perfect test-bed - Mar a Largo And to parody Talula Bankhead "Nonsense, Fakebook is not addictive, I should know - I have been using it for years" |
Subject: RE: BS: What new drugs do you think we need? From: JHW Date: 27 Oct 21 - 06:39 AM It may have been E.L.Wistie that suggested a Plib. Whatever is wrong with you take one and it makes you better. (as likely as the MCB shown in above ad to cut your Electric bill. Of course you'll pay less if you switch things off) |
