I'm trying to remember the lyrics to a song that I think was by Hamish Imlach.

All I can remember is: "It was rusted, it was busted, that old car wouldn't travel far, but......"

The car was used for courting, and the springs stood up to a considerable amount of hammer.

It must be 'The Clapped-Out Motor Car'. I'm sorry I haven't got the lyrics, and I haven't looked if they're in the DT, but I'll ask around. Today I asked a friend who was one of Hamish's closest friends, but he hasn't got the words written down either, and he never learned the song. I'll go on looking. - Susanne

I learned this from Hamish many years ago when we were playing at a Gig in Denny in Stirlingshire.
