Subject: RE: Obit: Betty White, 1922-2021 From: Ebbie Date: 31 Dec 21 - 04:25 PM I was hoping she would make it to 100- not so much for her sake as for ours. She had become a beloved icon. Long may her memory live on! |
Subject: RE: Obit: Betty White, 1922-2021 From: Mrrzy Date: 31 Dec 21 - 07:48 PM I liked Almost 100 a LOT better as a thread title, mods! But thank you for working New Year's Eve! |

Subject: RE: Obit: Betty White, 1922-2021 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Jan 22 - 01:33 PM Look up her IMDb account. They overlapped lifetimes, and I don't think of her as a singer/dancer, but one of the retrospective reels running on IMDb shows her in musical numbers. As a kid I watched some of the TV gameshows with my family and Password was a favorite, kind of an egghead game. She was good, and I was pleased when she married the host Allen Ludden, a widower with three children. I didn't realize until reading her obituary she had been married before (both brief in duration.) On her IMDb bio under children it says "None" then lists the three Ludden children. He was buried in Wisconsin, we'll have to see where Betty is buried, how all of that is sorted out. Betty White on IMDb. |
Subject: RE: Obit: Betty White, 1922-2021 From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Jan 22 - 01:40 PM I was reading that Bio on IMDb - it says that "Skipped college to study classical vocal training under opera singer Felix Hughes, uncle of Howard Hughes." |
Subject: RE: Obit: Betty White, 1922-2021 From: gnu Date: 01 Jan 22 - 03:49 PM She did more for 'womens' lib' through her various works than anyone else. That's what I remember and thank her for. RIP... and... thanks. |
