Which folk music artist's autobiography - which has not yet been written   
-would you most like to read?
I'll kick things off with Archie Fisher. Apart from being a wonderful singer/songwriter/guitar player, he has moved in so many fascinating circles.
From the Edinburgh 1960s scene with such a bunch of interesting characters to his visits to North America with a different bunch of wonderful musicians.
The list of characters would - of course - include Stan Rogers, Bert Jansch, Davy Graham and so on.
I wish there were a lot more folk musician's autobiographies because it is very important that the music of the folk revival is written down and in particularly by its great artists.

Alex Csmpbell’s. I once tried to convince him that he needed to write his autobiography but he just wasn’t interested. He had so many tales to tell - about Dylan, Paul Simon, Ewan McColl, Peggy Seeger, Sandy Denny - the list goes on. Alex was one of the UK’s earliest and most constant figures and his story needed to be told.

I'm sorry that I never got to see Alex. I really enjoyed his low priced Saga album. Indeed, I used to sing some songs off that record. "Willie Moore" was one of them. BTW, Talking of Willie Moore, I did once see Darol Adams who was one of Alex's musical heroes

Blind Blake, it seems hardly anything is known about him except for his exceptional abilities as a guitar player. Blind Willie McTell also as it seems he really got around for a blind person.

Ken Maynard the first singing cowboy in the movies left the results of one recording session, of his 8 songs with Columbia Records on 78 rpm. His sound on film was shot in Lone Pine. Only two songs songs were ever issued in 1930. And these two cowboy songs were "The Cowboy's Lament" and "The Lone star Trail". Ken Maynard, along with Tom Mix, and Buck Jones and Hoot Gibson were responsible for popularizing authentic western film on Hollywood's Silver Screen in the 1920's.....
