All the acts are of course 'Folk,' because that word has become generic and akin to the word 'Art.' For a work to be 'Art' all that is required is for the creator to define it so. Likewise 'Folk.' Pity the trip to Heck' is off - never danced there or even had a pint but it was the town that "invented" christmas lights and would benifit from a visit from traditional performers as it is on a bit of a slide culturally methinks ! hope is goes well PS if any of you cleck folk fest ctee peope are reading my day job is dealing with funding with kirklees and i can confirm the grant from the area committee was agreed - just need to get paperwork sorted tommorow but you got the brass ! She and her husband, (country side warden) have three kids, Matt, Ruth and a Freja (Born on the same day as my Freja!) But neither of us announced what the childs name would be! Don't get back to marsden very often to see anyone we used to know. Mouldy- I am better(ish) now and should be at Jug on Wednesday night. So; Cleckheaton folk festival is on the weekend of 30th June to 2nd July 2000. There are many gigs around the town and sessions in some of the pubs with excellent artists lined up. Tickets are; £14.00 up to 1st April, £15.00 unptil June and £26.00 after that. There is camping. Check out the website. "Cleckheaton folk festival". see you there-some of you. Eric. |
