Subject: Fylde folk and blues festval cancelled From: Dave the Gnome Date: 12 Aug 22 - 03:19 AM I was reminded by the threads about a Fylde cittern and Moira Folk Festival being adjacent! Sadly the 2022 Fylde FAB festival scheduled for Sept 1st - 6th has been cancelled. Piece in the Blackpool Gazette here |
Subject: RE: Fylde folk and blues festval cancelled From: GUEST,henryp Date: 12 Aug 22 - 04:01 AM Thanks Dave. We miss the original Fylde Folk Festival run by Alan Bell. Rachel has made great efforts to continue with a more modest event. These are certainly difficult times. |
Subject: RE: Fylde folk and blues festval cancelled From: Dave the Gnome Date: 12 Aug 22 - 06:43 AM The original was great. We used to have a family festival with the kids at Whitby then recover with an adults only one at Fylde a week later :-) I have been to a few of the FAB events and enjoyed them too. As you say, Rachel has done well and I am sure she was devastated at having to cancel |
Subject: RE: Fylde folk and blues festval cancelled From: Stanron Date: 12 Aug 22 - 06:58 AM Will the sessions continue? I attended the last festival run by Alan Bell as a volunteer steward and spent all my spare time in tunes sessions. It was an excellent weekend. I can't play now so I wouldn't be going anyway but would session players be welcome? |
