The car has been recovered by West Midlands Police but the instruments and all the equipment are still missing.

"There was a guitar, a mandolin, and a mandocello in the car, but as I travel quite self-contained, there was also my own sound system, microphones, cables, and lots of merchandise such as CDs."

The only thing left in the car was boxes of Jez's books, as he is also an author, and he was forced to cancel a gig he was due to do on Sunday night.

A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: "I can confirm we're investigating, and a man aged 22 has been arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and released pending investigation."

From Jez Lowe's Facebook page yesterday (Saturday, September 3rd) while in Walsall, in England's West Midlands:

Alert - All my instruments were stolen along with my car this afternoon from outside the Metro Inn in Walsall. All Fylde - guitar, mandolin and cittern. ALL LEFT HANDED. More details later. Bugger. Keep your eyes open please.
