I enjoyed her work.

Would not go "out of my way to view it," however.

Sincerely,
Gargoyle
Never thought of her as a Brit ... always thought her accent to be an affectation she put on for American audiences.

She did a good job keeping up with Judy Garland in Harvey Girls in 1946. Fun movie.

But my favorite Angela Lansbury singing performances were in Disney's Beauty and the Beast. This performance was 6 years ago in 2016, on the 25th anniversary of the movie. Here's a performance from 1992, when her voice was stronger.

And then there's "A Little Priest" from Sweeney Todd.

I enjoyed following her career and pleased she made good in US though English/British by birth

Became the "English aunt" after a long career in films

I was a poor government employee the years I lived in New York City, but I saved my birthday money (thank you, Dad!) and went to a few concerts and a couple of Broadway musicals. One of them was with Angela Lansbury in Sweeney Todd. Live music is best!

Gargoyle's yellow postscript makes a point.
It was the mother of Angela and Edgar Lansbury (they were twins)
who had a career on the English stage.
Angela Lansbury became one of the "MGM broads" as someone else put it,
and she knew Hollywood when it really was all that.

It was Angela Lansbury who was quoted as saying that
the Hollywood cinematographers knew how to make
a mud puddle look glamorous with the right lighting and camera angle.

I always loved both films of Gaslight.

Loved her appearance in many things. None more so than "The Court Jester" with Danny Kaye.

R.I.P.
