Sasha Baron Cohen had an actress in the room with Rudy and had to keep her safe and Rudy appeared ready to jump her (Lawrence O'Donnell played part of his interview with Cohen about that on The Last Word). O'Donnell said he can't play or read any more from that complaint against Rudy because of the network standards, it's too gross.

CNN gave Donald Trump a huge gift, and may have signed a death sentence to their business as far as being considered a "news agency." Two hours of unbridled lies when Trump held forth was an embarrassment to behold. I saw about 20 minutes before I couldn't stand it any more. From the WTF Just Happened Today newsletter I get on weekdays:

CNN reported that “it’s hard to see how America was served by the spectacle of lies that aired on CNN” during Trump’s primetime town hall interview. In his first media appearance since being found liable for sexual abuse and defamation, Trump spent roughly 70 minutes maintaining his lie that the 2020 election was “rigged,” refusing to pledge to accept the results of the 2024 election, calling the moderator a “nasty person,” claiming he had the right to take classified documents to Mar-a-Lago, and saying he would pardon a “large portion” of the Jan. 6 rioters. Although Kaitlan Collins attempted to fact-checked his inaccurate claims, the live audience of Republicans and undeclared voters regularly clapped and laughed on behalf of Trump and his false claims. There is probably a high percentage of bluster and attempt at saving-face involved in those remarks about an appeal. It will cost him more to appeal than he would pay, but he isn't that bright when it comes to money, he just knows how to grift for it.

Fellow GOP Liar George Santos is now in custody (midday on May 10) awaiting his arraignment. Keeping Trump out and whittling down the GOP numbers in the House and Senate are goals number one and two for the upcoming election. We'll have to see who would replace Santos (if an election happens, both Democrats and Republicans have a shot at it.)

There is a "Town Hall" on CNN tonight that Trump scheduled at the last minute. Hosted at a small conservative university in New England. The chatter is that he's already telling people he wasn't allowed to tell his side of the story in the trial concluded yesterday, never mind all of the extra time he was given to make an appearance. He just lies as it suits him, we've always known that.

Trumpers are lauding today's development as a victory for trump, saying that since he was not convicted of actual rape, the whole trial was a big loss for his accusers.

They don't mention the money he's going to have to shell out.

I keep reading that trump offered no defense in the trial, and it is true that he didn't appear in person. He did, however, present the deposition; he and his team must have figured that would do the trick.

Given that Trump thought so little of the EJC case that he didn't bother to offer a defence, I would be very surprised if an appeal against the findings would bear any weight. He had his chance and he threw it away.

I imagine he might have been throwing crockery at the wall in his usual tiny-temper tantrum manner.

The cherry on top of today's wonderful news was that the Justice Department has indicted George Santos (the lying GOP congressman from Long Island) and we'll learn what those charges are tomorrow when he appears in federal court. It doesn't mean he's out of Congress and the GOP needs his vote so they won't do a thing to expel him.

Trump's attorneys of course say they'll appeal the decision today, but this die has been cast. He is no longer "Teflon Don."

Recently, around the time of state or federal elections here in Oz a sticker has appeared on the local post box making fun of the conservative Liberal party. It looks like their usual logo but the word is spelled "Liarble" and not "Liberal".
