Trump's lawyers rested on Friday in the E. Jean Carroll rape trial, but the judge is so sure that Trump is going to try to use that as an excuse to blast the case in social media saying he wasn't given a chance to testify that the judge gave him until Sunday to officially declare his intent to testify or not. This is quite a gift, not something afforded any other defendant.

There is some sort of glitch when I try to copy text from the news articles. I get an error message, even when I just use plain text by pasting it into Notepad and then copying it but when I deleted the quoted text and just pasted my comments it worked. This is the second time I had to leave out the quotes on two ABC (Oz) articles. Very odd.

Trumps folks requested a mistrial in the E. Jean Carroll lawsuit, and the judge wasn't having it. Trump's attorney accused the judge of having a bias against Trump. (Reuters links disappear quickly.)

Trump's lawyer said the effect of several "unfair and prejudicial" rulings by Kaplan "manifests a deeper leaning towards one party over another," including comments where the judge "openly expresses favoritism."

She told people at the time, but if she wasn't going to act, I can see that after all of this time the exact date is forgotten. Unless something turns up to trigger that memory (and who knows - perhaps someone will come up with something in a journal or note. This is event was pre-email for most people, so it would probably be on paper somewhere.)

I have been thinking that E. Jean Carroll would have very little concrete evidence to offer in her case, but *everyone* saw the Access Hollywood clip, even if some of them made lame excuses at the time for Trump's statement.
