he Robin Dransfield recording is called Tidewave and was made in early 80s I think. I have a copy somewhere. The lyrics are similar but somewhat different to the US version posted above (although it may have been an adapted version of an original US song). I may try to post the Dransfield lyrics in a few days if I have a chance.

Just to clear up a misapprehension mentioned earlier. Robin Dransfield does a version of this song on the Kertalg 1974 LP on Barclay in France. However it is mistakenly called "Tidewave" which is a song he used to perform (which was written by Anne Briggs). The problem was probably that he wanted them to put Tidewave onto the record and the wrong part of the recording went onto the LP instead. Leastways, this song wasn't written by Anne Briggs - it was way before her time - and it CERTAINLY wasn't called Tidewave.

Glad to have cleared that up for the Mudcat community
