Yes, Jim, I’m very well aware of that. The old Irish song is “Fainne Geal an Lae”..
I should perhaps have made it clearer that “Raglan Road” borrowed the tune. The story goes that Patrick Kavanagh asked Luke Kelly to sing it for him, and his version is perhaps the best known.
But, the song the OP asked for is entirely different in both tune and lyrics, as I said.

I'm sure you're aware that this lovely PJ Kavanagh song shares only its tune with the old Irish song referred to, not any of the words

There is a video on YouTube with them: search for Guitar: The Dawning of the Day (chords and lyrics). He mainly uses C, G and F.
The song was in fact written by Roy Williamson of The Corries, and is a totally different song from the Irish song of the same name (aka Raglan Road.)
