I have been searching for years and I'm reaching out to the Cafe for help.

I have a tape recording of a song that I must find information about. I don't know who performs it or wrote it or anything. What I do have is most of the lyrics. They are:

"The sorrow of saying goodbye always comes when you realize what you had. You think of all the times you've cared. Thoughts and dreams you always shared makes you sad.

Some clues would help, like what kind of genre (folk, rock, country etc), what instruments, male or female vocalist, etc.

Clues are: Genre could be considered folk or folkrock. The version I have is a lone singer . I wish I had more.
