There's a poem by Archie Fisher about musicians.
Starts with (I think) 'I saw a chin rest on a fiddle...'
There's a stanza about a whistle player too_
I saw a boy ... take the old and smoky air into his lungs, and make it young.

Something like that. Help apprexiated.

It's the poem "The Ballad Singer", written by Archie Fisher for Al O'Donnell. Ir was quoted on the back of his first LP sleeve and is already on Mudcat in the thread Obit: Al O'Donnell
