Hello all - a while back I went to a folk club where a duo sang a song about telling the bees. I think the chorus included the lyric ‘you’ve got to tell it to the bees.’ It chronicled the life of a man who married and had children and became a widower, and there was a twist in the song when at the end the singer’s daughter Jane dies who was the only one left and he’s the only one left to tell the bees about it. Any help much appreciated! Thanks.

Here’s a YouTube link to me (I’m the songwriter) premiering that song at a long-ago Getaway. I changed the tune a bit after that, to take out the highest notes as I lost my upper range, but in principal it’s the same.
