Subject: Tech: Linking to Cowpie on archive.org From: Joe Offer Date: 27 Aug 24 - 06:55 PM Cowpie used to be the greatest Internet collection of country lyrics, but it died in about 2010. It used to be at http://www.roughstock.com/cowpie/songs/, but not no more. I was trying to post a clickable link from Mudcat Links to the archive of this resource at archive.org, but I can't make one that works. Can anybody tell me the secret? |

Subject: RE: Tech: Linking to Cowpie on archive.org From: cnd Date: 27 Aug 24 - 08:53 PM Joe, the reason Mudcat's blickifier gets confused is likely because there's technically two URL's in an archive.org address and it's not sure how to parse it. I've had that issue on other websites before, though I'll confess I haven't tried it in awhile. https://web.archive.org/web/20100412184834/http://www.roughstock.com/cowpie/songs/S/steel-magnolia/keep-on-loving-you Doing it the old-fashioned way (<a href="link">text</a>), as tested above, works fine. |
