Just heard Nick Noble for the first time at WICN,
a station I can only hear when I am traveling
in central or eastern Massachusetts.
Get too far west, and the broadcast disappears.

Nick Noble is the latest host for The Folk Revival show;
surely many Mudcatters have been around for the Folk Revival
when there were earlier hosts running the show.
Noble, in an interview, says the previous host was Norah Dooley.

In my case, it wasn't Folk Revival night --
Noble was substituting for the host of the
Soul Serenade show on Monday night.
He sounds like a very genial host.

Nick's a good friend and he's also on the board of the Portsmouth Maritime Folk Festival.

His regular Thursday night show, "The Folk Revival" on WICN (public radio "jazz plus folk for New England") out of Worcester, Massachusetts from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. can be listened to online (as I do, here in NH).

It's the AMERICAN folk revival, but Nick is exceptionally knowledgeable about a range of music. He often plays recordings by our local Portsmouth traditional singers and groups and my late husband Tom Hall, whose nom de Mudcat was Curmudgeon.

He's introduced me to a lot of New England musicians and singer-songwriters.

Nick has listeners from as far away as Australia and China.

I’ve met some wonderful people via his Facebook “coffeehouse” accessed through his weekly announcement of the show’s theme at the Folk Revival Facebook group.
