I am looking for a song that talks about the sounds different animals make, not necessarily vocal-type sounds- as if they are all in a band. The chorus says something like "the birds flap their wings and the beavers clap their tails, etc. Any ideas?

Well, not the one you'r elooking for but there's always the "Fed my cow under yonder tree" (the proper name of which I have forgot) which covers about every animal; noise you care to make! Oh, the end of chorus line keeps referring to the cat going fiddedy-dee. Musta been one of them furrin' cats.

A.

As an old friend used to say "I be good at they Animal impressions".
"Smells mostly" I can recall a song like The chickens they go cluck cluck cluck,
the cows they all go moo.
all on sombodys farm?

How about:

Place in the Choir

by Bill Staines

All god's critters got a place in the choir

Some sing low, and some sing higher

Some sing out loud on the telephone wire, and

Some just clap their hands, or paws, or anything they got, now

It's in Rise Up Singing, it's been recorded by Staines and John McCutcheon, and you can look for it in DT, if your 'puter is faster than my Model T mac. Let me know if this is it, but you can't get a hold of it anywhere else.

Mary McCaffrey
