Subject: RE: (Gimme Some of That) Ol' Atonal Music-Merle Hazard From: Helen Date: 29 Sep 24 - 12:43 AM That video makes me think of a party I went to when I was a student, about 50 years ago. It was in the same central city suburb as the Conservatorium of Music. As I was leaving I heard three people who were singing and playing very strange, very unappealing music. I asked them what the music was called and they didn't give the tune a name but just told me it was atonal music. By the grace of the music gods, I have never heard any more atonal music in my life, except for that Merle Hazard video and I'll go to my grave a happy woman if I never hear any more! :-D |

A friend once lent me an Alban Berg album and said I had to listen to it several times before "getting" the structure of the music. I couldn't stand to listen to it more than once - skimming it. |
