Subject: Dorset trad singers research request From: Nick Dow Date: 30 Sep 24 - 10:08 AM While in recuperation from my health problems, I have finally begun to compile an organisation file of the Hammond manuscripts. (Dorset 1905-1908). I have all singers entered alphabetically with repertoires typed and song notes from Hammond, Lucy Broadwood and Anne Gilchrist with of course Frank Purslow entered against each singer. The view is to produce a website in the same vein as David Sutcliffe's 'Cecil Sharps People' I intend to have MP3 files for every song collected, and bios for all 186 singers and photos if I can find them. If this fires your interest I am looking for someone to undertake some genealogical research. Not all of it of course and only what ever you wish when ever you wish. If I don't make it to the end of the project Cohen B.K. has agreed to take over. Just thought I would ask. PM me if you are interested. |
